Merry Patterns
I'm still playing with the wonderful Merry Patterns set two-step stamp set. These two cards today are a continuation of the Cherry Cobbler and Silver color pallet that i began yesterday. I sometimes make several cards in the same color pallet with the goal of putting them together in one of our clear gift card boxes to give as gifts. Its always fun to have a few gifts like this on hand for last-minute gifts.
The basecard for both cards I created today is Cherry Cobbler. Then, both cards include a layer of Whisper White.
The card above uses the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the snowflake image in the top of the card. The Elk is stamped in Basic Black Archival and then the two-step Cherry Cobbler design. I think it would have been better to stamp the outline in Smoky Slate. I think the Basic Black outline stamp makes the Cherry Cobbler look a bit muddy. Maybe it was just me being in a hurry and not waiting long enough for the Basic Black Archival ink to dry thoroughly before stamping Cherry Cobbler.
After stamping in Basic Black outline and in Cherry Cobbler sweater, I fussy cut the Cherry Cobbler Elk and popped him up on dimensionals. A Silver Metallic Foil Doilies peeks above the banners. The banners are Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White. The sentiment is also a two step stamp. I stamped the outline in Basic Black Archival, and then the design in Cherry Cobbler.
The second card, above, the candles were stamped in Basic Black Archival outline. Then there is a stamp for the flames, which I stamped in Crushed Curry. Two other stamps include the different patterns in the candles. Both were stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The candles are popped up on dimensionals before adding them to the Silver Foil Snowflake, Metallic Foil Doily, and Delicate White Dolly. The I added banners in Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper, a Cherry Cobbler Banner and a Basic Gray Banner. The sentiment is embossed in White embossing powder.
Here what the two card look like together. See how well they match yesterday's cards. I'm planning to work on more cards with this set and color combination this week. This is a great set that you can't buy, but you can get it FREE with a $300 (less tax and shipping) order placed before the end of October.
