Year of Cheer Treat Holder
Today's project is a quick treat holder for year end celebrations. I reached for the Year of Cheer Specialty Paper again because it was still out on my work table from a New Years card I recently posted. These are a perfect size to fill with Hershey Chocolate Kisses or a couple of Lindt Chocolate Truffles.
The sentiment is from Cheers to the Year stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Vesamark and embossed in Silver. The circle is punched with a 1-1/2 Circle punch. The outer scalloped layer is die cut from the Layering Circles Framelits.
The scalloped layer is die cut from Silver Foil Sheets. The silver foil accents are die cut using Swirly Snowflakes Thinlit Dies, one of the dies that will carry over from the Holiday catalog, making it a great investment if you haven't ordered it yet.
The photo above show a view showing how cute these 2" high treat boxes look from the side.
To create these treat boxes, begin with a 8-1/2 X 6" piece.
On the 6" side of the cardstock, score at 2" and 4".
On the 8-1/2" side, score at 3" and 5-1/2"
After scoring, cut off and discard the rectangles on the four corners. On the two longest sides, punch with the Scalloped Tag Topper.
On the two shortest side, find the mid-point of the ends (1-1/4") and score from the midpoint to the edge of the scoreline. Score the opposite side the of the same tab in the same way. Turn the piece 180 degrees and do the same score on the opposite tab.
Crease all score lines. Use Fast Fuse to close one side. Add your filler and close the second side. Bring the two punched tabs together and close the top using ribbon through the punched opening. I used the 1/8" Silver Ribbon.
I can't wait to make more of these cute little treat holders with other patterns from the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.
