I simply can't put down the April 2025 Paper Pumpkin Inked Occasions Kit--it's pure creative gold! During our recent Paper Pumpkin Procrastinators Meetup, where fellow crafters and I gathered to dive into our kits together, I whipped up this stunning alternative card that blends kit goodies with extra die cuts for a fresh twist. I started by die cutting one of the kit's gorgeous watercolored backgrounds and layered it on Basic White to create an elegant backdrop for the additional die cuts. For the basecard, I chose Summer Squash Cardstock, perfectly highlighting one of the soft watercolor hues from the kit. Next, I brought in some delightful die cuts from the Linked Together Dies and the Magnolia Mood Dies, weaving them seamlessly with a sentiment label and and the charming "Hugs" sentiment from the kit. For a finishing touch, I added glimmering Gold Low Profile Dots that added just the right amount of sparkle and texture. Both the full Inked Occasions Kit (166252 | $24 USD) and the Inked Occasions Paper Pumpkin Refill(166253 | $13.50 USD) are still available to Paper Pumpkin subscribers.
Instructions:
- Start by cutting one of the watercolored backgrounds included in the April 2025 Paper Pumpkin Inked Occasions Kit in half and then trimming it to 3-1/2 X 4-1/2"
- Matt the die cut watercolored background in Basic White to use as the backdrop for your die cut images
- Choose a Summer Squash Cardstock basecard of 8-1/2 X 5-1/2 and fold to 4-1/4 X 5-1/2'.
- Use die cuts from the Linked Together Dies and the Magnolia Mood Dies to add visual interest to your card. The lattice is Basic White. The flower and stems are Gold Foil Sheets.
- Incorporate a "Hugs" die cut from the kit to convey a heartfelt sentiment
- Create a sentiment label in Basic White for the sentiment using a die cut from the Countryside Corners Dies
- For a touch of elegance, embellish your card with Gold Low Profile Dots
I die cut the flowers and stems using the Magnolia Mood Dies and Gold Foil Sheet to mount on the Basic White lattice die cut from the Linked Together Dies. I added a few Gold Low-profile Dots which complimented the Gold Foil die cuts and accents in the watercolor paper.
