Tip: when adding a heavy ribbon to a card, I'll use several glue dots and then heat them with my heating tool. The glue dots hold more like hot glue and I don't worry about the ribbons falling off.

You're going to be seeing a lot of cards using the new Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. One design from this DSP pack, the little triangles, was very popular at Leadership, and I saw many swap cards at Stampin' Up! conference in Houston using the DSP from the Kaleidoscope paper pack.

The 3 cards, I'm showing you today all the use of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. Inspiration came from cards I saw at Leadership. I love to take a good design and change it up with more of my style. That's what I did with these designs. The cards also use several new stamps from the new Occasions Catalog that went live earlier this month, including, Pomp & Circumstance (134165-w, 134168, c), Perfect Pennants, (133227-w; 133230-c), and Starburst Sayings (133182-w; 133185-c)

The Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper (132995) includes 12 different paper designs including 4 different polka dots designs --perfect for Spring and Easter projects-- and two Black and White designs (stripes and chevrons), yet the majority of cards using this paper used the one DSP paper I'm showing on these cards! One of the home-office presenters showed us examples of geometrics being used all over in clothing, home furnishings, and all manner of accessories this year--and Stampin' Up! is right in step with the new Triangle punch (133375) that can be purchased alone or as part of a bundle that includes the Geometrical stamp set.  Purchased together, the Geometrical bundle saves 15% over the two items purchased alone. We received Geometrical as one of our Leadership sets this year, another great reason to attend Stampin' Up! events!

Also new in the Occasions Catalog are the new Basic metal Buttons (133319).  We've had larger metal buttons in the past, but these come in smaller sizes than past metal buttons, and I also found that they layer together, giving more dimension and interest to your cards.

Here's another card I designed for Leadership swaps last week. I fell in love with the Language of Love stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog and couldn't wait to use it. I know I'll be using many more of the cute flag, triangle and heart shapes from that set before Valentine's Day is over.

The heart is heat embossed in gold, and the Champagne glitter paper compliments it nicely. Its so nice to have so many matching products. The Coastal Cabana card stock matches the designer paper and the ruffled ribbon. I used the Fancy Fans embossing folder as the background. Stampin' Up offers a wide selection of affordable embossing folders and Framelit shapes you can use if you want to case this card, but don't have the exact items I used.

When cutting 20 or 50 swap cards, you'll save a lot of time by cutting two pieces of card stock at a time and using two dies for the shapes you are cutting.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Stampin' Up! event without display boards. Leadership 2014 was no different here. Lots of great ideas. I'm still in the process of posting some of these great card and paper craft ideas to my Meetup Site.

However, the display boards were about the only thing that was the same as previous years. Stampin' Up! does a great job of keeping the format of Conferences fresh and staying current with the current trends

One of the Hottest trends - Gold. Gold is everywhere this season!

Stampin' Up! offers many new products to keep up with the Gold trend this Spring.

Another new format at this year's Leadership was the combinations of demos from the Stage combined with Make & Takes. Several presenters shared their inspiration for their assigned projects and we were given samples of kits and cards to put together during the evening Make & take Session. Stampin' Up! introduced several other new products which you'll hear about in the next 1 to 6 months. Demonstrators attending Leadership received a new stamp set for demonstrates to use to make cards of encouragement for their downlines and customers. Another booth on the display floor was covered with drapes. This is where we got a sneak peek at the Paper Pumpkin kits coming up in the next few months. They are great!
