Affectionately Yours
I pulled out some Designer Series Paper and embossing folders I haven't had time to play with until today. I used one of the papers from the Affectionately Yours Specialty Design Series Paper set. I added it to a Crumb Cake base card and framed it in Night of Navy.
I realized that I also hadn't used the matching Floral Affection Textured Impression Embossing Folder, too. I tried a couple of different treatments with the embossing folder, and finally settled on this treatment. How did I do it? I brayerd the embossing folder with Night of Navy, inserted a piece of Crumb Cake and ran it through the Big Shot. Then I fussy cut around the flower images while the paper was still a bit wet from the ink. It cut really easily, and I loved the final result.
I had the Flourishing Phrases set sitting on my work space and I selected the little "hello" from that set to use on this card. Looking at it now, I wish I had used a bolder "hello" so it stood out from the background better. However, I wanted to get the card in the mail to my mother before the rains hit Houston, and before the postman arrived this morning. I may do a redo of the sentiment later if I decide to use the card for a class. (I think I'm my worse critic...)
The sentiment is stamped on the one of the die cut circles from the Stitched Shapes Framelit sets. A piece of Burlap Ribbon adds interest behind the Stitched Shapes sentiment layer.
