Early Release Carols of Christmas bundle
Want to shop a Christmas bundle before the September release of the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog? Your wish has been granted. This bundle -- stamp set and coordinating dies -- is from the Merry Little Christmas mega suite from the upcoming Holiday Catalog, and you can purchase it now.
It includes not only this stamp set and dies, but this mega suite includes another stamp set for making tags and a coordinating punch for tags, a number of embellishments and coordinating ribbons. While most of the items in this mega suite will be available for customer purchases September 1. The stamp and die set I'm highlighting today is available for purchase now -- to give you a head start in creating your hand made Christmas cards for friends and family earlier than ever.
I used an Old Olive base card, with a layer of Old Olive striped paper from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper set. The small black and white tags extending from the bottom of the sentiment block are an additional pattern from the same Designer Series Paper set.
The large sentiment is stamped in Basis Black Archival ink. This set include two large sentiments -- gorgeous elements for card fronts. The boarders at the top and bottom are separate stamps making it easy to stamp them in coordinating colors. I chose to use Basic Black for these two elements as well. Then I covered the letters in Wink of Stella to give the card a holiday feel.
The small bow at the top of the card is the 3/8" Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon, Its attached with mini glue dots. Tip: Attaching bows with glue dots. I seem to have a difficult time keeping little bows attached. Especially when I'm using the cards on display boards or as class samples. One trick I've learned to keep these bows attached when using glue dots is to heat the glue dots with my heat gun for a few seconds to soften the glue dots and get a stronger hold of the ribbon by holding it on the softened glue dots for a few seconds. Its like attaching them with a hot glue gun.
You'll love the versatility of this bundle to make simple cards to fun cards with more details
