A little Easter Basket with a Bunny
Today I'm sharing a project we'll make in my class this week. Its a small Easter basket made using the Wood Crate Framelits and the new Sale-A-Bration Basket Weave Embossing folder. With Easter less than a month and a half away, you still have time to make many little, colorful baskets for the little ones and your loved ones.
Bring on the Jellybeans! Did you know Jellybeans were first made in America by Boston Candy maker William Schrafft, who ran advertisements urging people to send jellybeans to soldiers fighting in the Civil War. Wouldn't it be great to start a movement to send a card and jellybeans to a soldier serving overseas? Let's get together and make some cards and treats and get them to the post office well before Easter!
This small basket is a perfect gift to make for Easter. Fill it with Peeps, jellybeans, chocolates, or fun gifts like the little bunny erasers I found. The basket is cut from Wisteria Wonder cardstock using the Wood Crate Framelit. Then the two pieces are dry embossed with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder.
The handle is a 1/2" X 11" Wisteria Wonder with borders punched from Elegant Eggplant using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. My tip for making the handle is to use your bone folder to break down the fibers so that it curves nicely. Do the same with the Elegant Eggplant before you punch them so they too curve nicely. Use your Silicone Craft Sheet and Fast Fuse to glue the borders and attach them to the handle.
Feed the handle through the holes in the basket and hold the handle in place with glue dots. Fill the basket with white shreds from the Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie pack from page 13 of the Occasions catalog.
The Basket Weave Embossing Folder gives the basket a festive finish
The tag is one of the additional dies in the Wood Crate Framelit set. The sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst ink, and the sentiment comes from the Sale-A-Bration Beautiful Peacock set. The tag includes a small bow made from Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine. Join us for this weeks class to make this cute basket. See details below.
