- A Mother's Flair Stamp Set
- Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate Paper
- Monday, April 9, is the Release of the Last-Chance Product list
A Mother's Flair from the Occasions catalog
Today's stamp set is one of the cute sets from the Occasions catalog called A Mother's Fair. I really struggled with this set because I wanted to make an entire set of cards. I spent several days trying different backgrounds and finally came up with a background using the Brusho Crystal Colors.
If you missed Brusho, you can find it on page 26 of the Occasions catalog and other samples on page 34, 35 and 49. It comes in a box of 5 colors and it gives papers a watercolor look when applied with water and spread with an Aqua Painter. The colors coordinate with our Stampin' Up! colors, and you'll love experimenting to see what you can create.
For the background, behinds the foil acetate, I used watercolor paper and Yellow Brusho, which includes specks of red - orange. I sprayed the watercolor paper with plain water. Then I shook a few shakes of Yellow Brusho onto the watercolor paper. I used an Aqua Painter to pull the color towards the edges of the paper. Then I used my heat tool to dry the piece of watercolor paper. I was careful not to add too much water and to begin drying by leaving the paper flat on my work surface until I was sure the colors would no longer run. There are several ways to use Brusho, and I've included a video below showing you some of the different techniques you can use with Brusho.
I used a Whisper White background for my card dry-embossed it with the 3-D Ruffled textured embossing folder. I layered my watercolor paper with Brusho background under a piece of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate with the gold foil side showing. I attached it to the acetate by hiding the glue dots under the image and sentiment.
I stamped in Berry Burst Ink the hat from A Mother's Flair, along with the sentiment. I used a small piece of Rich Razzleberry to back the sentiment die cut.
I used the Stitched Shapes circle framelits for the hat image, and the label banner from the Petals & More Thinlit dies for the sentiment. I can't wait to try more background with Brusho Crystal Colors and the other images from this cute stamp set to make additional cards. Watch the video below for more Brusho ideas.

Get ready. We are just three days away from the last-chance product list announcement. Stampin' Up! will publish the annual products and Occasions catalog last-chance list April 9.
When the list is announced, there is always a rush to order items on the last-chance list. At this time of year, inventory of some of the current items are beginning to gets low. One of the first set of products to sell out are the retiring 2016-2018 In Color ink pads, re-inkers or cardstock. Then the coordinating In Color embellishment start to disappear. If you've waited to order any re-inkers or coordinating items you might need for the 2016-2018 In Colors, I recommend ordering now. As soon as the Last-Chance product list is announced, items are only available until they sell-out.
Below are the 2016-2018 In-colors that will retire this year, as these are the trendy In Color collection available for only two years to keep the Stampin' Up! Color Collection fresh. Don't forget to add the reinkers, and coordinating 8-1/2 X 11 inch Cardstock Packages if you've fallen in love with one of these colors or have scrapbook pages you're in the process of completing.

If these stamps and coordinating dies or punches are carried over to the new catalog coming out in June 2018, typically, the bundle pricing is no longer available.
