Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek
Some days' I'm just too lazy to stamp and color images, although I really love the new Stampin' Blends colors in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, which I just received with my pre-order. Instead, I looked at the images in the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper and decided that cutting images from this Designer Series Paper was more in line what I wanted to do today for the card I had in my mind. I also couldn't believe how cute the frogs in one of the prints in the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper Pack were, and I just had to find a way to use them on my card. One side of this Toil & Trouble paper set includes darling images, and the reverse sides are coordinating prints.
It always seems like Halloween comes up so fast that I only have time to make a few Halloween items. This year I hope I'm starting early enough to do a few more projects than usual using the cute Halloween items from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog coming to customers September 5.
I laugh every time I look at this card and see the frogs hopping out of the cauldron. The look on the cat's face is also priceless.
Directions for today's card:
- Basic Black basecard
- Next layer is Gorgeous Grape
- Then the Granny Apple Green Layer
- The image layer includes a print from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series paper with Lemon Lime and White dots.
- Then the witch image, cauldron, cat and frogs are fussy cut from other prints included in the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper pack
- The fence is die cut from Basic Black cardstock using a die from the Farmhouse Framelit Dies. The Basic Black cardstock was backed with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets before die cutting to avoid getting glue on the front of the fence when adhering
- I purchased this die set because I wanted this fence. Then when I received the Farmhouse Framelit Dies set I was so disappointed that the fence seemed to be missing. However, once I opened the package, I realized that this set of dies included so many dies that the fence was on the backside of the side with the house, truck and tree. It also includes dies for two different tags and a die for six cute little bows to use as embellishments. Sooo cute!
- The Everyday Label Punch was used to punch out the label used for the sentiment. I trimmed the bottom bump off the tag, and I used the Detailed Trio punch to create the hole in the top of the tag for the ribbon.
- The ribbon is the new Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog
- The sentiment was created with 3 different stamps. The line at the top and the bottom was created with a stamp from Make A Difference. The Trick or Treat is from Itty Bitty Greetings. The Thank You for Being so Sweet is from the Treat Time set. The sentiments are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Recipe:
