Stampin' Up! Nature's Beauty
Here's a card I know I had to CASE as soon as I saw it on Mary Deatherage's Instagram site. It uses the Nature's Beauty Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! and the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set and coordinating Dies. The deer in this set has so captured my heart. Every evening as I write my blog posts, I watch a herd of deer from my second story window. I've been blessed to do so for over 20 years. The woods in our area have been slowly torn down to make way for hospitals, restaurants and housing. However, our back yard backs up to a woods that holds an old, private cemetery that that dates back to the Civil War and the woods has remained unchanged for the many years we've lived here. This year we have the largest herd of deer yet. And with Fall comes a few very large Bucks that aren't part of our regular herd. We've also had three new babies, so our herd is up to 9 deer this year, not counting the visiting Bucks. The Nature's Beauty Stamp Set I have to admit, looks just like the quizzical deer as they watch us as we watch them while they wonder through our forest.
The basecard for this card is Real Red. Then a layer of Soft Suede. The image layer is Crumb Cake stamped with the pine twigs from Peaceful Boughs in Soft Suede Ink.

Then I die cut two of the largest circles using the Stitched Shapes Dies. One in Soft Suede. The other in Crumb Cake. I stamped the deer from Nature's Beauty in Soft Suede, then I used the spots from Peaceful Boughs to create a snowy background for the deer. I did stamp off once before stamping the spots.
Then I used the Beautiful Boughs Dies to create the pine boughs and the pine cones. I cut the pine boughs out of Vellum cardstock and Shaded Spruce cardstock. I cut the pine cones out of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.
The sentiment label is cut from Crumb Cake using one of the dies in Beautiful Boughs Dies. The sentiment is from Peaceful Boughs and is stamped in Soft Suede. I added a bow of Real Red 1/8" Curly Ribbon.
Usually, when I CASE a card, I tweak it to make it my own. However, Mary Deatherage's card was so perfect that I didn't want to change a thing!
