Stampin' Up! Country Home
We had such a beautiful Fall afternoon today with both heavy and soft rainfalls. The wildlife in our back forest enjoyed it sooo much, and our Australian Shepard loved splashing in the large puddles on our walk just before dark. The lovely day inspired me to pull out my Country Home set to create today's card. Its a great card to personalize to say "hello" to someone special, or to use as a "thank you" card for a special hostess. You'll want to make up a few to have on hand to use throughout the Fall celebration season.
The basecard for this card is Thick Whisper White. Then a layer of Smoky Slate dry embossed with the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, and lightly sponged with Smoky Slate ink to give the corrugated background even more dimension. Then a layer of Basic Gray. Then a layer of Whisper White stamped in Crushed Curry using the Birch Background stamp.

I first stamped the dried flowers from the Country Home Stamp Set, followed by the milk can. I found that stamping the flowers first made it easier to line up the milk can. These were stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock.
I used both Blends and Stampin' Write Markers to color the dried flowers and the milk can. I love the shading you can get using Blends. The colors used are in the recipe below. I also added a little Smoky Slate Blends as a shadow under the image. Unfortunately, there isn't a die to cut the image, so I fussy cut the image and popped it up on dimensionals before adding it to my card.
The Country Home stamp set is such a timeless image. You'll find yourself using it for a variety of cards. You'll love creating this fun card using your own colors and sentiments. And, you'll love everything you make with the Country Home Stamp Set

Demonstrators sent 52,000 greeting cards
Word Card Sending Week Resulted in Stampin' Up! Demonstrators globally making and sending 52,519 cards, resulting in at least that many smiles around the world. With all the digital options for sending messages available today, greeting cards are even more special because of their rarity. When my Mother died a couple years ago, one of the treasures I retrieved was two large bags of handmade cards I had sent her. All the cards included memories I had shared with her from my childhood, and how much I benefited from her being a stay-at-home mother with me. She made most of my childhood clothes; taught me to sew, knit, quilt, and I'm sure that's where I grew my love of crafts. I'm sure someone would enjoy a card from you today with a personal memory from your childhood.
