Paper Pumpkin Lovely Day February 2020 Kit
A group of us got together this morning to put together our Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin Kits for February 2020. We made both the samples provided in the kit, but we spent the largest percentage of our time making alternative cards with the kit contents and some of our other Stampin' Up! supplies. When Stampin' Up! gives us a list of the colors for upcoming Paper Pumpkin Kits, its fun to stock-pile a collection of die cuts, dry embossed card fronts, and embellishments to grab as we head out the door to meet our friends to put together our kits at our favorite coffee shop. Sharing ideas with each other really helps us get the most out of our kits. And the Paper Pumpkin kits just keep getting better and better. Next month the kits are going to include two, yes two, stamp set! It's Paper Pumpkin's seventh birthday, and Stampin Up! is gifting us a extra stamp set in our kits for free. So be sure you've ordered your Paper Pumpkin kit before March 10 to get your extra stamp set in the March Paper Pumpkin Kit. These are the three alternative cards I created from this month's kit.
Below is the front of the instructions for the lovely Day Paper Pumpkin Kit, where you see the three designs included in this kit. Every month's kit is a surprise. Each kit includes a stamp set, an ink spot, embellishments, glue dots, dimensionals, and the papers and die cuts to make the projects in that month's kit. In additional to the detailed instructions included in the kit, Stampin' Up! creates a video showing you how to assemble your kit. It couldn't be any easier.
Below is my first alternative card made with the kit contents. The cake slice is a die cut included in the kit, but you also get a cake slice stamp as one of the stamps in the kit, so you can make many more than the kit includes. I did cut down the shape to fit onto the Petal Pink scallop background I die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies as an extra element to use on my card. I also die cut the swirl from the Painted Labels Dies in Pool Party to add to my background. The sentiments are from the kit's stamp set. The ribbon is the 1/4" Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
My next alternative card idea, below, used the large flower stamp from this kit, colored with Rococo Rose Blends Makers and Old Olive Blends Markers. I fussy cut the flower and popped it up on Dimensionals. The scalloped rectangle is Vellum Cardstock die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The Rococo Rose sprigs behind the flowers were die cut using the Birthday Dies from the Coordinating Product Release earlier this month. I added several 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots as accents to the card front.
The third alternative card idea isn't very different than the sample card in the kit instructions. I added a Rococo Rose die cut using the Painted Labels Dies. Now that I've got a good start on this kit, I can't wait to make more.
