Join the fun! Each month Stampin' Up! offers a different Paper Pumpkin Kit filled with everything you need to create projects you'll be proud to send to those you love. It is a great excuse to get together with your crafting friends to put your kits together and share ideas for alternative ways to use the elements in your kits.
Today I'm showing two cards I created using the free stamp kit we received in the March 2022 Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit. Yes! The March kit included two stamp sets. It was Stampin' Up!'s way of thinking Paper Pumpkin Subscribers as it is Paper Pumpkin's anniversary.
Paper Pumpkin kits are perfect for newer stampers without many stamping tools. The kits include everything needed, except scissors, to complete a number of cards with matching envelopes, or treat packaging or other fun ideas that change monthly, including written instructions and assembly videos. However, experienced stampers love Paper Pumpkin craft kits, too. We love adding our own personal touch by adding more card layers, making different card layouts with the kit elements, and adding additional stamped elements or die cuts from our stash of Stampin' Up! craft supplies.
Here are the two layouts I created for today's post. You can also look back at yesterday's post to see three more cards I created with the Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit. To create the card below I tore open one of the matching envelops included in the kit with a Bumblebee watercolor pattern and used it as the base for my floral images. I used a Misty Moonlight basecard and a Bumblebee Cardstock matte. I used the extra Free Stamp Set from this month's kit to stamp the flowers All three -- large and two small flowers--are included on one stamp.
I then stamped the flowers again on a piece of Basic White Cardstock. This is a two step image. I inked my background flowers stamp with Bumblebee ink and then stamped off before stamping on my piece of Basic White. Then, for the accents inside the flowers, I stamped Bumblebee ink full strength. Because I had already stamped my flower image onto my watercolor background, I knew exactly where to stamp my Old Olive leaf images before adding my mounted flowers to the card front. I fussy cut the flower images out of the Basic white Cardstock and popped them up on Dimensionals. Before adding the flowers to the card, I added a Gold Foil die cut I created using one of the dies from the Rain Boots Dies. The Hello sentiment is stamped in Old Olive ink on Basic White. It is one of the stamps included in this floral Stamp set. I added another small piece cut from the envelope under the sentiment that included all the colors in my card. I added small Gold Metallic pearls to the centers of my flowers.
For the next card, I used the same card layout, but switched up the colors. The basecard is still Misty Moonlight, and my Basic White image layer is matted in Pale Papaya. The flowers are stamped in Misty Moonlight. Again, I stamped off before stamping the base flower images, and then I stamped the accents at full strength ink. I again stamped the leaves in Old Olive, and added a die cut from the Rain Boots Dies before adding my flowers on dimensional. the sentiment is stamped in Old Olive ink and I used one of the Old Olive elements from the Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit as an accent under my sentiment.
The two cards showcase the creativity you can express using a kit as a starting point. If you love to craft, but don't have time to think up unique themes and try all your ideas, kits are a great help. Your Paper Pumpkin kit comes with a set of instructions to create the kit as is, however, you'll love to add your personal touches and your own personal creativity to your creations.
