If you've received your Sending Good Thoughts Paper Pumpkin kit and haven't assembled it yet, let me tell you, you are really in for a treat! I love this kit! I'm one of those people who loves to create alternate ideas with my Paper Pumpkin Kits. But this kit is so great that you can make minimal changes to upgrade these cards. Take a look at how I made changes to upgrade the three card designs in the Sending Good Thoughts July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit. Don't miss another month of Paper Pumpkin. The kits just keep getting better and better. Paper Pumpkin kits are great for beginners without a lot of space for crafting and likely don't have a lot of crafting supplies. Everything you need for your project is in your kit except for scissors. Stamp set, ink spot, die cuts, embellishments, adhesive, and paper materials to make your projects are all included in the Kit. Kits come with printed instructions, AND Stampin' Up! creates an assembly video for each kit, making it even easier for you to craft whenever you want with the videos providing you your own private instructor. Above are the three cards I created using the three different designs in the Sending Good Thoughts Paper Pumpkin Kit. This months' kit included such wonderful designs I didn't have to do much to the creations provided by Stampin' Up! to make them my own.
Below you see my first alternative. I used the basic layout and created an actual message in a bottle using the Vintage Bottle Punch (Item#158689) and the Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes (item 158788), coordinating items from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. The bottle includes an actual message tied with the twine from the kit. I used the banner tag from the kit, punched a hole for the Vintage Bottle Shaker Dome, scored the bottom of the tag so that the top of the banner folded open so you could get at the message in the bottle.
Inside the bottle, I glued the punched bottle from the tag to the card front, with twine behind the bottle neck. To secure the top of the tag, I used the paper piercer on my Take Your Pick tool to punch holes for the twine on each side of the Vintage Bottle Shaker Dome and fed the twine through and tied a bow. When you untie the bow, the top of the tag folds down so you can take the message out and read it, and put it back without destroying the card. Only the bottom of the tag is glued down. I added an additional matte layer of Gray Granite, and used stamps in the set to stamp starfish and more greenery onto the card font.
The next card is pretty close to the original layout. I again added a Gray Granite Matte to the preprinted Pacific Point card front, stamped the boat image and sentiments and attached the die cut birds provided in the kit. The only addition to this card is a vellum die cut from the Chic Dies. Because I cut the embossed card front down before I matted it, I had a thin piece of the card front, which I used with a white insert on the inside of the card.
The third card layout in the Sending Good Thoughts Paper Pumpkin Kit, again stayed pretty close to the original layout. I added a Poppy Parade matte to the embossed Fresh Freesia card front, and used the elements from the Kit for most of my images. My additions to make this my own were to use the Seaside Seashells Die (Item #156095) to create die cut - embossed images. I cut them apart and used three of them on the lower left corner of my card. I also cut foliage seaweed from the die cut to use at the bottom and side of the card. The sentiment and other die cuts are from the Sending Good Thoughts Paper Pumpkin Kit.
