When I buy a stamp set, I like to know that I can use the stamp set for different looks rather than just the obvious images. Today, I'm using the Stampin' Up! Horse & Sleigh Collection with a completely different look than my card posted yesterday. I used White Embossing powder on the Horse and Sleigh Stamped image and Misty Moonlight striped papers from the coordinating One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper to create a very stark, but stunning Holiday or Winter greeting card. I added a single die cut tree using the Horse & Sleigh Dies, and I added a sentiment tag created with the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I used Boho Blue Jute Trim on the tag. To give the card a wintery feel, I added a background of Vellum Cardstock die cut using the Countryside Corners Dies. The final touch was a White Adhesive-Backed Snowflake from the snowflake assortment that is also part of the Horse & Sleigh Collection. This set is one of Stampin' Up!s Online Exclusives. You won't find this in any catalog; its only available when you search Online Exclusives or Horse & Sleigh Collection on the Stampin' Up! website.
The basecard for this card is Misty Moonlight Cardstock. Then a layer of a Misty Moonlight and White striped print from the One Horse Open sleight 6" X 6" Designers Series Paper. Then, I used the Countryside Corners Dies to die cut a piece of Vellum Cardstock to use as my image area.
Next, I stamped the stamped the sleigh and horse from the Horse & Sleigh Stamp Set in VersaMark Ink, covered it with White Embossing Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. I used the Horse & Sleigh Dies to die cut the image, and mounted it on Dimensionals. I also die cut a white tree using the Horse & Sleigh Dies. The trick to using such a large piece of vellum is to make sure no glue or adhesive shows through the vellum layer. To hide the glue, I first attached the Basic White tree, sentiment tag and Horse and Sleigh to the vellum, and then only added glue to the vellum behind these elements so that there were no adhesive marks showing on the front.
Below you'll see two cards with different looks, both created using the Stampin' Up! Horse and Sleigh Collection. When I purchase a stamp set, I like to see multiple ways of using it.
