Here's a close up of one of the cards made during Stampin' Up!'s recent Creativity Now event for demonstrators around the world. Today's card was created using the Nests of Winter Suite, which will be available in this Fall's Mini catalog. Demonstrators were able to preorder this suite to use to follow along and create cards during the event. While the Stampin' Up! sample card was a quick and easy design, I added more layers and dry embossed one layer to create a card a little more to my personal tastes. The color theme for this card was Blackberry Bliss, Moody Mauve, Crumb Cake and Basic White. The Wintery Tree Tops Bundle, part of this suite, was used to stamp the bird image and the sprig images, and the Dies in this bundle were used to die cut these images. Bronze and Ivory Stampin' Blends and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends were used to color the birds, the berries, and the sprigs. One of the sentiments from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set was used to stamp a sentiment onto Basic White Cardstock using Mossy Meadow Ink. Earth Tone shimmer Gems we added for bling.
The Nests of Winter Suite Collection will be available to Demonstrators in August during the Demonstrator preorder, and to customers in September when the September-December Mini Catalog is released.
The basecard for this card is Blackberry Bliss Cardstock. Then a layer of Moody Mauve Cardstock dry embossed using one of the retired Basic 3D Embossing Folder with a crosshatch pattern. The next layer is a Basic White Cardstock matte for a layer of Crumb Cake. the Crumb Cake layer is dry embossed using the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder, which is also part of the Nests of Winter Suite Collection.
The birds from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set and Dies Bundle were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then die cut using the dies from this bundle. The birds were colored with Ivory and Bronze Blends Markers, which are often overlooked colors because they are typically used for coloring skin tones. These two colors are purchased as a pack including both colors, Item #154922. The berries were colored with Cherry Cobbler Blends, and then a Color Lifter Blends (Item #144608) was used to lighten the color of the berries adding shading to the berries. Three sprigs were also stamped, die cut and colored with the Bronze Blends. There were added to the bird and berries image to fill out the image. The bird image was mounted on Dimensionals before adding it to the card front.
