This was a fun card to make during the recent Stampin' Up! Creativity Now Event, because it showed how to make a frame using nothing more than the left over die cut piece from another card. We again used the Nests of Winter Suite Collection which will be available in the September - December 2024 Mini catalog. As a Demonstrator we were able to preordered this suite to create cards during the event. This card uses a color theme of Misty Meadow, Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana, Cajun Craze, Basic White and Crushed Curry. We used the leftover piece from a previous frame we had cut and used it along with Blending Brushes to create a famed border of Misty Meadow ink as the background for our bird images. To add dimension, after shading the the boarder of the Basic White, we move the scrap 180 degrees and adding a bit more Mossy Meadow ink with a Blending Brush to create additional pine branch images. We used Watercolor Pencils Assortment #2 to color the birds and berries. The birds were colored with Coastal Cabana, adding darker areas on the wings. The beak is Cajun Craze, and the berries are Crush Curry Watercolor Pencils. The Heartfelt Hexagon Punch was used to create a Basic White Label for the sentiment, and a sentiment from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink.
The Nests of Winter Suite Collection will be available to Demonstrators in August during the Demonstrator preorder, and to customers in September when the September-December Mini Catalog is released.
The basecard for this card is Misty Meadow Cardstock. Then a layer of Basic White Cardstock with a boarder created with Misty meadow ink and a Blender Brush over a scrap from a previous border piece from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies.
The birds from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set and Dies Bundle were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Smoky Slate Cardstock, and then die cut using the dies from the Winterly Tree Tops bundle. The birds were colored with Coastal Cabana and Cajun Craze Watercolor Pencils from Assortment #2. And the berries were colored with the Crush Curry Watercolor Pencils also from Assortment #2.
