Friday, 11 November is Veteran's Day. A day to honor veterans of the armed forces and those killed in the country's wars. Let's remember to honor the service and sacrifices of our Veterans with cards of thanks.
I reused a card design I originally created for 4th of July. Instead of a Night of Navy and Real Red and Basic White color theme, I used Sweet Sorbet, Starry Sky and Basic White, which are a bit brighter than Night of Navy and Real Red. I used one of the Dies from Delicate Edges to simulate the stripes of a flag with die cuts of Sweet Sorbet. Then I created a Starry Sky Square and added punched and die cut Basic White stars of various sizes. For my sentiment label, I used a die cut from the Meadow Dies and stamped a thank you sentiment from Boughs and Blossoms, a retired set, but there are many current sets with Thank You sentiments that could be used instead.
If you want to thank someone for protecting our country and fighting for our freedom, a handmade card is a fitting way to express your gratitude.
I enjoy finding ways to combine my Stampin' Up! products to extend their use beyond their original purpose. I keep a good share of my retired products and love finding ways make them relevant again.
