Christmas Gift Card Pillow Boxes
I had some left over scraps from the October Paper Pumpkin Kit. I knew I would find a use for them because they had a wonderful, subtle sparkle to them. Sure enough,I ran across an idea from another Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Silke from www.bastelsafat.de using the Kraft Pillow Boxes. I was able to use these wonderful, pieces of paper to die cut little sparkly trees to use for a small scene on the Kraft Pillow Boxes These printed, die cut pillow boxes are great for gifts and wrapped goodies. They come 10 pillow boxes to a package. Use item# 147018 to order. You'll have them in time to decorate them and add gift cards for many of the holiday gifts you're going to need.
To cut the trees, I used the dies from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies. I hand cut a 5" strip from Whisper White for the rolling snow mounds, making sure I left enough room for the sentiment. I used a sentiment from the So Many Stars Stamp Set and stamped it in Real Red on the Whisper White hills. I used the Cardinal from the October Paper Pumpkin Kit and stamped the small bird in Real Red onto the snow.
Recipe
To cut the trees, I used the dies from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies. I hand cut a 5" strip from Whisper White for the rolling snow mounds, making sure I left enough room for the sentiment. I used a sentiment from the So Many Stars Stamp Set and stamped it in Real Red on the Whisper White hills. I used the Cardinal from the October Paper Pumpkin Kit and stamped the small bird in Real Red onto the snow.
I glued the trees to the back of the rolling snow mounds and then I added Tear & Tape Adhesive to the back of all of the images. Because of the rounded shape of the Kraft Pillow Boxes, I wanted to make sure that the images would hold when the Pillow Boxes were assembled. Tear & Tape Adhesive is a strong adhesive meant for boxes and 3D items. And I love that you can tear it rather than searching for your scissors hidden under a mound of craft supplies on your desk when you're in the midst of creating.
To finishes the pillow box, I tied a bow out of Real Red Cotton Ribbon, and added a Jingle Bell to the bow. I think this is such a cute gift package. I know I'll be making many more.
