Halloween Treat ideas
I haven't posted for a while, as I've been busy creating and was busy this week end with visiting family. We had so much fun!. Can't wait until they visit again! This week end I created these cute little treat holders, inspired by Jackie Beers, at BLueLineStamping.com. The hold the new Stampin' Up Treat Tubes from the Holiday catalog. I added them to a collection of Halloween cards and treats packages I've been working on.
I think they are a fun addition to the Halloween display I've been working in.
Fall and Holiday themes have always been my favorite to create. Imagine the fun of sending these cute cards to say "Hi" to someone, or the fun treats to handout to Halloween trick or treaters.
I have used Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie for most of my Halloween project so far. This project added two additional colors. Rich Razzleberry and and Lemon Lime Twist.
I've use Rich Razzleberry as the base for this little treat holder for the Treat Tubes. The top is punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Then I used Spooky Night Designer Series Paper to decorate the treat holder. I've filled the treat tubes with different kinds of candies to see which fits in the tube, and I'm happy to report that many small candies fit perfectly. Candy Corn, M&Ms and Jelly Beans that match our Stampin' Up! colors have been my favorite.
Trick or Treat Tube Holders using Cat Punch from Stampin' Up!
In the treat holder above, I filled the treat tube with Lemon Lime Twist jelly beans. (That's what I call them!) They looked so good, I filled one our our small Clear Tiny Treat Boxes with the jelly beans as well to show you how you can coordinate our colors with the candies of the same colors. I've decorated this treat holder with the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. Looking at this now, I'm going to add a punched Lemon Lime Twist cat using the new cat punch to the treat holder above.
This is a side view of the Treat Tube holder, showing the small layer in the bottom of the folded holder showing how the treat tube is held in position.
Here are dimension for making the holders:
Base cardstock:
Cut to 2 X 9-3/4". Scored at 1/2, 1-1/2, 3-1/2, 4-1/2
Punch the center of the surface after the second score line with a 3/4" circle punch
Base for holder:
Cut cardstock to 3" X 2". Score 1/2" all around
Punch a 3/4" hole in the center.
Cut up to score lines on each end.
Fold on score lines and tape ends sides to inside of ends.
I glued the base to the inside of the holder.
