Create cute Polar Bear cards using Stampin' Up! Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper

As I was looking at the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper with the polar bears, I kept thinking about what a shame it would be to cut up the polar bear scene.  I kept looking for a way to showcase these adorable polar bears, until I remembered this card layout called the Hidden Scene Z-Fold card.    Its a snap to layout, as you simply cut 4 1" strips to place across your card.  Since the Designer Series Paper is 12", it means you're able to get two "scenes" from one 12" wide sheet, and add one more complimenting 1" paper.  The card is a standard 8-1/2 X 5-1/2, and then you score it along the 8-1/2" side at 2-1/8" and 4-1/4".  Then just lay your 1" strips to recreate the scene from the Designer Series Paper.  I added a 3" X 5-1/2" Night of Navy panel folded in half, which I used for my sentiment, and a personal message inside.  On the panel I added some white snowflakes from the Adhesive Backed Snowflake Assortment.  The prints in the Beary Christmas Designers Series Paper include several designs perfect for Christmas Cards, or you could use scenes like this one for a Birthday card or a wintery "thinking of you" card.  

The basecard for this card is Navy Blue Cardstock.  Then I used a 12" X 5-3/8" section of the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper to create two cards with polar bear scenes.  I cut the paper into two 6" pieces and then cut it again into 1" X 5-3/8" strips.  I selected another, complementary print from the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper, and added another 1" X 5-3/8 Strip to the final panel.  

Next, I cut a 5-1/2 X 3" panel of Night of Navy and folded it in half to use as my sentiment layer.  I used the Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set and coordinating Punch to create a message on Balmy Blue Cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment and border in Night of Navy ink and then used the Heartfelt Hexagon punch to punch out the sentiment.  I added a white panel on the inside of the sentiment layer to write a personal note.  I added Dimensionals only to the left side of the sentiment panel so that when the card was folded, the Z-fold tucks under the loose edge of the sentiment panel.  (See below for both open and folded samples)

To finish my card, I added three white snowflakes from the Adhesive-Backed Snowflake Assortment pack. You enjoy using this card design for showcasing scenes from your 6" X 6 or 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper.  Let your imagination go wild!
