I'm so smitten with the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick sets. Today I created a simple card with a simple image from Hey, Birthday Chick Stamp Set, Basic Black and Basic White cardstock and a piece of Designer Series Paper from the True Love Designer Series Paper. There's so much more to this set, and the returning Hey, Chick set and you'll love using them with their coordinating dies. Take a look at my earlier post for the full details about both bundles.
I stamped an image from the Hey, Birthday Chick Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and also stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the set, again, in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
I used five different Stampin' Blends Markers to color the image. Just Jade, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, and Cajun Craze. I used the Light of each shade and then went over parts of the image that I wanted to highlight. I added a little bling by including a Just Jade Enamel Dot.
While most of the cards I create are more complex with die cuts and ribbons, with the rolling power outages, water outages, and internet/phone outages we've experienced in Texas the past couple of days--during a time when our temperatures were lower than in Alaska--I decided that simple cards were the way to go.
