Unleashing the Magic of Winterly Tree Tops

When winter arrives, so do the opportunity for heartfelt card-making.  Today, we're diving into some delightful card ideas using the Stampin' Up! Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set and Dies from the Nests of Winter Suite, alongside the whimsical Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper.  With a complimentary selected color palette and fun techniques, you can create cards that no only capture the essence of the season but also bring joy to your loved ones.

To start, gather your supplies:  The Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set and the coordinating Winterly Tree Tops Dies are essential for this project.  The dies enable you to perfectly cut out stunning bird images, enhancing the overall look of your winter cards.  These birds are not only charming but also versatile;  you can use the dies to cut bird images from the Nest of Winter Designer Series Paper or fussy cut additional images from the paper.  Alternatively, you can also use the dies to cut stamped bird images from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set. The dies also include a background frame of wintery pines.  

Now lets talk colors.  For these cards, we're focusing on a vibrant pallet:  Basic White, Basic Black, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Cherry Cobbler, plus the colors in the birds you select from the designer series paper.   For embellishments, I added a bow of Lost Lagoon Soft Cording--a new product from the upcoming January release.  

Creating your Card Step by Step.  Begin by cutting and folding a piece of Basic White Cardstock for your basecard to a finished size of 5-1/2" X 4-1/4".  Create another layer of Basic White Cardstock 5-1/4" X 4" dry embossed using the Birchwood 3D Folder.  Next, cut a piece of 3-1/2" X 5" Pool Party Designer Series Paper print from the Nest of Winter Designer Series Paper and layer it a bit offset so that it peeks out on the top and sides of the die cut frame.  Using the pine boughs frame die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies, die cut a piece of Basic White and trim it to 3-1/2" X 5".  Cut another piece of Basic White to 3-1/2" X 5" to fit behind the frame.  Using a Blending Brush and Costal Cabana ink pad, create a soft Coastal Cabana focal point on the Basic White background piece.  Then layer die cut birds mounted on Dimensionals on top of the frame with a bit of the inked Coastal Cabana background showing.  

The images of the birds are pre-colored based on the birds you choose from your Nest of Winters 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper.  Alternatively, you can use the Wintery Tree Tops Stamp Set to stamp bird images, color them with Blends or colored pencils exactly like the designer series paper.  Or choose your own color combinations for the birds, branches and berried to display your own unique style.  

The Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set was used for one of the sentiment and the Winterly Tree Tops was used for the other sentiment.  The word "always" was excluded from the Thinking of You Sentiment by taping it off, inking just the Thinking of You with Versamark ink, removing the tape, and stamping the sentiment on a strip of Coastal Cabana.  Then covering it with White Embossing Powder and heat setting it with a Heat Tool.  A bow of Lost Lagoon Soft Cording (from an upcoming release in January) was added as an accent.
