Stampin' Up! Very Vintage
I was in a swap in June and received this beautiful card. I fell in love with the Very Vintage Stamp set used as well as the Grapefruit Grove cardstock and ink used. What really captured me was the mottled background. Unfortunately, this card didn't include the name of the owner, so I can't thank them personally. I decided to CASE (Copy and share everything...Copy and selectively edit.. I've seen many meanings.. .) this card for my blog today.
The basecard for this card is Grapefruit Grove. The next layer is Whisper White. While the card I cased looked like it was stamped with a clear block, I decide to try the largest background image from the Love What You Do stamp set. I stamped off and then stamped the Whisper White cardstock with Grapefruit Grove ink.
Instead of ovals, I decided to use the dies from the new Stitched Seasons Framelit Dies, which is part of the new Color Your Season stamp and die set that is offered this month to help get you started on fall and holiday cards. Its only available August 1-31. I used two of the dies to create the image layer.
The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, as is the sentiment. The bow is the 3/8" Gold Metallic-edge Very Vanilla ribbon colored with Calypso Coral Blends. Two size of gold Faceted Gems were added as accents.
I think I need to work on my background stamping a little more. However, stamping a background with a textures stamp or a clear block gives you the look of a Designer Series Paper on plain cardstock. This is a great technique -- especially if you have limited supplies.
Recipe:
Stamp: Very Vintage, Love What You Do
Ink: Grapefruit Grove, Tuxedo Black Memento, Calypso Coral Blends
Paper: Grapefruit Grove, Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched Seasons Framelit Dies, 3/8" Gold Metallic-Edge Very Vanilla Ribbon, Big Shot, Big Shot Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Paper Snips, Bone Folder, Stampin' Trimmer, Multipurpose Glue, Dimensionals,
