With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's the perfect time to craft a heartfelt card to send to a loved one. One of the most delightful options for this occasions is the Stampin' Up! Sending Love Stamp Set and Dies found on page 79 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. This versatile set comes equipped with everything you need to design charming Valentine cards, including a platform mailbox, letters, assorted hearts and suite sentiments for expressing love or missing someone special. In addition to its Valentine-focused elements, the Sending Love bundle offers opportunities for year-round creativity, enabling you to send cheerful mail or warm welcome notes to friends. Notably, it includes a die for crafting a decorative bow as well as pieces that emboss a beautiful woodgrain texture onto your mailbox post. The design possibilities are truly endless. To elevate your card design further, consider incorporating heart-filled designer series papers from the retired Country Floral Lane paper pack. This is an excellent way to utilized leftover materials from your crafting stash. Additionally, you can enhance the textures on your greeting card by adding an embossed layer using the Eyelet 3D Embossing folder. For this particular project, we will use a color palette of Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Basic White, and Smoky Slate.
Layering for Impact
Here's how to create your Valentine Card. Prepare Your Base Card by starting with a piece of Petal Pink Cardstock. Add an embossed Layer created using Petal Pink cardstock dry embossed using the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder. This adds a lovely textured element to your card. Next, create the image layer beginning with a mat from Basic White cardstock to serve as a backdrop for the Country Floral Lane 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper. This creates a stage for your images.

- Petal Pink Basecard: 4.25 X 11" Folded to 4.25 X 5.5"
- Petal Pink, dry embossed with Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder: 4.25 X 5.25"
- Mat - Basic White Cardstock 3.5 X 4.75"
- Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper-3 X 4.5",
- Basic White Cardstock (mailbox and envelopes) 4.5 X 4" before die cutting
- Calypso Coral: 2 X 2" for hearts
- Basic White (Sentiment) 0.25 X 4.25"
- Petal Pink Basecard: 4.25 X 11" Folded to 4.25 X 5.5"
- Petal Pink, dry embossed with Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder: 4.25 X 5.25"
- Mat - Basic White Cardstock 3.5 X 4.75"

Adding Sentiments and Embellishment your card
Next, stamp and color your images. Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp the mailbox on a post, and letter images onto Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, its time to bring your images to life using Blends Markers. Color the mailbox post with Light and Dark Smoky Slate Blends. Use Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends for the mailbox. Color the mailbox flag with Calypso Coral Blends.
Die-cut your images using the Sending Love Dies. Assemble your card adding the mailbox and letter images to your prepared image layer. Experiment with placements for visually pleasing arrangements. Tip: Since the four small hearts are die cut with a single die, I used the cardstock left over from the die cut as a template for placing my hearts.
Finally, add your sentiment. Stamp your sentiment on Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Attach this sentiment to your card, ensuring it stands out and complements the overall design.
Voila! Once you've followed these steps, your Valentine card will be ready to send. Consider decorating your envelope with stamped hearts or other decorative images from the Sending Love Stamp Set. This project not only provides a heartfelt gesture for Valentine's Day but also showcases your creativity and crafting skills. enjoy the process and share the joy of handmade creations.
