  • Stampin' Up! Nature's Poem Suite for Fall cards
  • Stampin' Up! Rooted in Nature Stamp Set
  • Final week to order the new Watercolor pencil colors Assortment #2

Stampin' Up! Rooted in Nature

I'm trying so hard to work on fall-themed cards, but I'm so in love with the Christmas stamp sets in this coming Holiday Catalog, that every time I start working on a Fall card, I get distracted and start making a Christmas card.  So, this week I'm going to show you a couple of Fall cards I finished this weekend, and I'll also sprinkle in a couple of Christmas Cards to give you a few more Sneak Peeks from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

Today, I'm highlight the Rooted In Nature Stamp set and the Coordinating Nature's Roots Framelits. This and the paper I used are all part of the Nature's Poem Suite on Pg 142-144 of the annual Stampin' Up! catalog.  This stamp set also coordinates with the long-time favorite Lovely As a Tree Stamp set, which you probably already have.

The print used is from the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper, and the twine is from the 4-pack of coordinating Nature's Twine, that is also part of this suite.  The amazing details in the leaves was created using the new, Big Shot Embossing Mats, found on page 221 of the annual Stampin' Up! catalog. These new mats help you extend the usefulness of your Existing Framelits, Thinlits, and Edgelits dies.  You'll find these mats to be an essential Big Shot accessory, once you try them.

This is such a simple, fast card to create that you'll want to stamp several while you have your supplies out.  That way you'll have cards on hand, ready to send, instead of making a trip to the store at an inconvenient time.  Here's what you need to make these fast cards.

Directions for today's card:

  • Crumb Cake basecard
  • Next layer is Soft Suede
  • Then a layer of one of the prints from the Nature's Poem Designer Series Papers.
  • The leaves are created using the Nature's Roots Framelits and the  Big Shot Embossing Mats, embossed and cut from Whisper White Cardstock

  • The sentiment is from the Rooted In Nature stamp set.  It is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White Cardstock.
  • The twine bow is made from the 4-pack of Nature's twine.  It includes Crumb Cake, which I used on this card, along with rolls of Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove, and Mint Mint Macaron.

New, Take Your Pick Multi-purpose Tool

Today I used the Take Your Pick Tool to help me place the leaves more easily on the card above.  What's the Take Your Pick Tool?  Its another cool item from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog, and it it several tools in one.

This new tool has a tacky putty tip, which helps you easily pick up sequins, paper accents and other small objects.  Twist the dispenser and more putty appears.  But there's more to this new Stampin' Up! tool!

The other end of this tool includes a mini spatula to help you lift small items like pearls and rhinestones.  This tip is removable and when you turn it around, it becomes a paper piercer.  You can remove and replace this end with another end which includes a small stylus on one end or a larger stylus on the other end.  In addition, the Take Your Pick tool comes with a second Take Your Pick Putty Refill.  And when that runs out, you can order additional Take Your Pick Putty Refills separately.  What an incredibly useful little tool!  Check it out on Page 30 of your new Holiday Catalog.   Just one more item you'll want to add to your Wish List from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!

I would love to be your Demonstrator if you don't have one!  Need a Holiday catalog?  Contact me and I'll put one in the mail to you if you live in the US.
