Dragonfly Garden used for an In Color Monochromatic card

Here is another card I created for a swap with Demonstrators.  This swap was to create a Monochromatic card with one of the new In Colors.  I'm using Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set with the coordinating Dragonflies Punch.  The In Color I'm using is Fresh Freesia.  I'm also using the In Color Shimmer Vellum in Fresh Freesia, stamped with a Dragonfly image in Highland Heather and punched using the Dragonflies Punch.  I added a little bling with the Pastel Pearls on the sentiment.  I also used the  one of the prints from the In Color 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment to add a subtle geometric background to my card.

The basecard for this card is Fresh Freesia Cardstock, one of the new In Colors this year.  Then, the next layer is Basic White.  Finally, a layer of one of the prints from the 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment.

The image layer is Basic White Cardstock.  I stamped the floral from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set in Fresh Freesia ink on it.  Then, I stamped one of the dragonflies from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set onto a piece of Fresh Freesia 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum and punched them out using the Dragonflies Punch.  Tip to save on the Shimmer Vellum used:  I cut a 2" strip from the Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum.  Then I found that I could stamp several dragonflies close to each other with the wings of one dragonfly, fitting  close to the body of the dragonfly next to it.  That way, I could punch out just the large dragonfly with the Dragonflies punch without wasting paper by punching out the tiny butterfly.   Or you could cut a wider piece of Shimmer Vellum, punch out both the large and the tiny dragonefly, and use the tiny dragonfly to decorate the inside of your card.

Then, I die cut a sentiment shape out of Basic White Cardstock using the Scalloped Contour Dies, and stamped one of the sentiments from Dragonfly Garden in Fresh Freesia ink onto it before mounting it on dimensionals.  I added a little bling using one of the Pastel Pearls.

Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP and Humming Birds

Stampin' Up! Mosaic Mood DSP and Humming Birds


I haven't used the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Papers in a while, so it was a pleasure to pull them out today and remind myself why I purchased these as one of my earliest selections from the Annual Stampin' Up! catalog.  Photographs just don't capture the shine in the tile-designs in these papers  This is one paper package you need to see live in order to appreciate its beauty..  See the entire Mosaic Suite on pages 118-120 in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.   Thanks to my friend, Carole Corey, for the inspiration for this card.



There are so many colors in the Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper, that its hard to choose which to use.  I'm using a basecard of Thick Very Vanilla, but I started with Terracotta Tile and tore that off, and almost used Thick Whisper White, but ended up with Thick Very Vanilla.  Then a layer of Early Espresso, dry embossed with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder.  I used a sponge and Craft Whisper White in to bring out a bit more of the embossing on the Early Espresso layer.  Then I created a mat of Terracotta Tile for a print from the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper.  
         





The stitched rectangle was die cut from Blushing Bride cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  The Humming Bird was fussy cut from another print from the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Paper, and it is popped up on Dimensionals. 

 The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink.  The sentiment is from the
Perennial Birthday stamp set.
