Weather you're crafting a Thinking of you, holiday, a birthday or even a sympathy note, the Stampin' Up! Nest of Winter Suite collection offers the versatility you need to adapt your designs for any occasions. Today's project highlights a stunning card using a Blueberry Bushel Cardstock basecard, complimented by the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper, and the enchanting Winterly Tree Tops Bundle. Your cards will not only resonate with the season, but they will also express the sentiment you want to convey. To save time, make several cards ahead for your card supplies, and add the sentiment using the Nested Essentials Dies, just before you mail your greeting to a cherished friend of family member. The bird is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink using the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set, and colored with water color pencils and a Waterpainter. Embellishments include White Bakers Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, and Misty Moonlight Gems from the Tinsel Gems Three Pack.
To start, select a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock measuring 5.5" X 8.5". Fold this cardstock in half and score with a bone folder to create a crisp fold for your basecard with a final measurement of 4.25 X 5.5" . Then create the image focal point, which sets the tone for your creation. Begin by die cutting a Basic White piece with dimensions of 5.5" X 4" using the Winterly Tree Tops Dies creating the pine boughs background piece. Then trim the pine bough die cut to 5" X 3.5". Using a 5 X 3.5" piece of Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper, layer the pine boughs die cut over the scenic Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper and glue in place. Glue this image focal pint area to the Blueberry Bushel basecard.
Now that you have your base and focal point ready, add personal touches. Begin by stamping the the delightful bird from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set using Tuxedo black Memento Ink. After stamping, die-cut the bird with its coordinating dies from the Winterly Tree Tops Bundle. Next, grab your watercolor pencils and a Waterpainter to add life to your bird. You can opt for colors that complement the Blueberry Bushel theme for a monochromatic effect or choose contrasting colors for a pop of vibrancy. Once your coloring is finished, proceed by adding your sentiment. Depending on your preference, stamp it in either Blueberry Bushel ink or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. To add a stylish touch, place a piece of White Baker's Twine behind your sentiment and finish with elegant embellishments using Misty Moonlight Gems from the Tinsel Gem Three pack. With each element working together, you create a card that feels both cohesive and artistic.
