You're Inspiring from the Occasions catalog
With Mother's Day approaching, I wanted to create cards early to ensure I had plenty of cards on hand to send. While I lost my mother last year, I have many aunts, sisters and friends who are mothers that I want to honor. Today's card is bitter sweet. Sweet, because it uses the You're Inspiring stamp set, which will carry over from the Occasions catalog to the new catalog in June. Bitter, because we're loosing Wisteria Wonder from the core colors with the Color Revamp I talked about in yesterday's post. However, the Color Revamp has two new beautiful purple shades, called Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. Check out these new colors and other changes in yesterday's post.
Today's card uses a Thick Whisper White basecard, then a layer of Pear Pizzazz and then a layer of Wisteria Wonder. The Wisteria Wonder layer is dry embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing folder, which will be available in the June catalog, but you may already have it if you earned it as a free gift during Sale-A_Bration, which ended March 31. It's a beautiful embossing folder, and I'm so happy it will be available to everyone on June 2.
The 3/8" Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon is from the current Annual Catalog, and it too will carry over to the new catalog. It is such a soft ribbon, which makes it very easy to tie.
The Decorative Ribbon Border punch was used to create the border out of Pear Pizzazz cardstock on the top and bottom of the daffodil image. I used Blends to color the stems and flowers. I actually had an old Blendability in Wisteria Wonder that I used with the new Old Olive Blends to complete this image. However, you can use your your Stampin' Write Marker or one of your Watercolor Pencils.
I used the Dark Old Olive Blends to color one of the gold Metallic Enamel Heart Shapes and added it in front of the sentiment.
The sentiment is from the A Mother's Flair stamp set from the Occasions catalog.
