Climbing Orchids Stamp Set
Today I'm playing with the Climbing Orchids Stamp set and the coordinating Orchid Builder Framelits. I also used a new embossing folder -- one of the new, very thick folders -- called the Pinewood Planks. I choose to use the new In Color, Powder Pink for the colors on this card.
Today I'm playing with the Climbing Orchids Stamp set and the coordinating Orchid Builder Framelits. I also used a new embossing folder -- one of the new, very thick folders -- called the Pinewood Planks. I choose to use the new In Color, Powder Pink for the colors on this card.
To reduce stamping time, I mounted several of the Orchid Layers onto a single large block and stamped them at the same time. I then used tiny sticky notes to hold several framelits in place so that I could run several dies through the Big Shot at the same time, again saving time. I cut enough for four cards, which caused me some confusion because of the large number of pieces on my work surface until I started assembly.
I used thick Whisper White for the base card, then a background layer of Powder Pink and then a Whisper White layer run through the Pinewood Planks 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Its recommended to spritz your paper before running it through the embossing folder, but I just wanted a light impression of a wood planks so the Orchids were the focal point of the card. The sentiment layer is cut using one of the oval shapes in the Stitched Shape Framelit dies.
The edges of the flowers and the oval shape were sponged with a sponge dauber and Powder Pink ink. The Climbing Orchid set includes several different stem lengths and shapes so you can create a variety of stems. The sentiment is one of three in the Climbing Orchid stamp set.
