Stampin' Up Foxy Friends card and coordinating punch

  • Foxy Friends
  • Foxy Friends bundle retiring, Stamp set and punch will carry over

Cute Baby Critter from the Foxy Suite

I needed a quick card to make this morning so I could get out and do our weekly grocery shopping.  This little foxy critter couldn't be more simple.

I chose a DSP paper from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series pack, although the Little Foxy Suite has a coordinating paper pack called A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack, a 6 X 6 pad.  Pop of Pink is a 12 X 12 paper pack and I loved the simplicity of the black and white.

I stamped the fox image in Calypso Coral using the Foxy Friends set.  Then I stamped the head a second time and used the Box Builder Punch, which matches this set, to punch out the fox head and adhere it with dimensionals.  There is a separate stamp for the eyes and nose, making it easy to stamp them separately in Basic Black Archival Ink.

I used the "miss you" sentiment from the Live, Love, Grow stamp set and added a small enamel heart in Calypso Coral above the you.

Recipe:

Stamp:  Foxy Friends Stamp Set, Live, Love Grow Stamp Set (sentiment)
Ink:  Basic Black Archival, Calypso Coral
Paper:  Whisper White, Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper
Accessories:    Fox Builder Punch, Calypso Coral Enamels, Corner Rounder punch,  Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

Fox Friends Bundle Retiring

The Foxy Friends Bundle (stamp set and coordinating punch) is one of the items that will retire May 31.  However, the stamp set and punch will carry over as individual items in the new catalog, June 1, and you'll be able to purchase the stamp set and the punch as separate items.

If you purchase this stamp and punch now, as a bundle, you'll save 10%.  The bundle item number is 142326, US $40.50.

In fact, all of the current bundles will retire May 31.  However, you will still be able to purchase several of the stamp sets and matching punches or dies in the June 1 catalog as individual products if they aren't on the retiring list.  They will, however, not be sold as bundles with the 10% savings.   Save now by purchasing your favorite bundles before they sell out and/or retire May 31.

Stampin' Up! card with Grateful Bunch

  • Grateful Bunch
  • Save now on retiring bundles

Grateful Bunch of Daisies

While yesterday's post featured the new Delightful Daisy paper and new Daisy punch, today's post features the daisy stamp and punch from the current catalog, called Grateful Bunch.  While its sad to see a favorite set retire, its nice to have a replacement that's equally as delightful as the set we're losing.

I chose a DSP paper from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Pack.  I also used the DSP for the daises.  I stamped the three daisies in Tip Top Taupe and then uses the Blossom Bunch punch to punch them out.  This stamp and punch create all three sizes of daisies at the same time.  The Grateful Bunch stamp set includes one more larger daisies, which was too large for my layout today.  I stamped the leaves in Emerald Ivy and also used that ink pad for stamping the sentiment.

I added a 5/8" burlap ribbon between the stamped daisies and the sentiment.  The Stitched Shapes Framelit was used to cut an oval for the sentiment.

I used one sentiment from the Grateful Bunch on the card on the left.  I used a sentiment from the Avant Garden Sale-A-Bration set for the card on the right.  I added Pumpkin Pie enamels to the center of each flower.

Recipe:

Stamp:  Grateful; Bunch, Avant Garden
Ink:  Tip Top Taupe,  Emerald Envy
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Tip Top Taupe, Peekaboo Peach, Playful Palette Designer Series Pack
Accessories:    5/8" Burlap Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie Enamels, Corner Rounder punch, Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies, Blossom Bunch Punch, Standard Cutting Plates, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Big Shot Platform,  Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

It always amazes me how messy the creative process is.  Tying so many ideas takes time, and we are so blessed to have so many product choices that coordinate.  Some days its hard to decide exactly what to use.  Everything is a decision.  Should I have used the Cucumber Crush stripped ribbon rather than the burlap ribbon?  Should I have used the Peekaboo Peach enamel dots rather than the Pumpkin Pie enamels?  Should I have rounded the corners of the Very Vanilla piece?  Should I have used plain Peekaboo Peach cardstock for the daisey's instead of using the DSP?

So many choices and decisions can sometime cause you to make no decision and just walk away from a card half finished.  The thing to remember is that you can make ANY decision -- just make a decision.  This isn't the last card you'll make, and like any learned skill, the more you do it, the better you become.  I read somewhere that in order to become a true master at anything, you need to do it 10,000 times. And you don't need to be a true master to be good at card making.

When you visit a blog of an experienced stamper who makes a card a day for 20 or more years, you'll understand why you're drawn to the designs, color schemes and proportions of their cards.  They are true masters.  So what if you're cards aren't as beautiful as theirs.  Just keep at it.  The fact is that your friends and family know that you are putting thought and time into a hand made card designed and made for them.  And they truly appreciate the time and effort.  Like any other skill, the more time you put into it, the better you become.  The beauty of card making is that there is a community willing to share their ideas, and the community encourages you to CASE (copy and share everything).  So feel free to copy and modify ideas you see and like.

Retiring products continue to sell out

Items on the retiring list continue to sell out.  If you haven't placed your retiring products order, you risk not getting the items announced as retiring when the current catalog retires May 31.

The good news is that many of your favorites stamps and dies will carry over to the new catalog.  There may be some confusion about the bundles announced as retiring.  All of the current bundles will retire May 31.  However, you will still be able to purchase many of the stamp sets and matching dies in the June 1 catalog as individual products.  They will, however, not be sold as bundles with the 10% savings.   Save now by purchasing your favorite bundles before they sell out and/or retire May 31.

Stampin' Up Daisy Delight Sneak Peek

  • Daisy Sneak Peek
  • Clarification on retiring bundles

Delightful Daisy Sneak Peek

Today I'm playing with one of the new stamps and papers form the 2017-2018 soon-to-be-released catalog (June 1) to customers.  I've seen many samples of this set that have focused on the soft colors in this new Designer paper, but I wanted to pik up some of the brighter colors.  I'm using Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral with the new Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the new Daisy Delight flower on Daffodil Delight cardstock twice and then punched them out with the new Daisy punch and offset and layered the two daises together.  The Thank you sentiment is also part of this set.  It is stamped in Calypso Coral  on one card and in Old Olive on another.  Also,  ...for your kindness, is part of this  stamp set,

I wanted to see how some of the new embellishments looked on the cards.  On the cards below, I added a new Gold Faceted Gem to the flower center.  To the card on the right I added the largest size and brightest new Glitter Enamel Dots.  The stamp set also has a center stamp image that can be stamped in the same color as the rest of the daisy or another color.  I'm going to try a White daisy with a center stamped with a Daffodil Delight for another card.  The stamp set includes leaves and stems that would look nice added to plain cardstock.

I think this is going to be a very popular se, and its not too early to start adding items to your wish list from the new catalog coming out June 1.  Want to receive your new catalog?    If you've purchased form me in the past year, you'll receive your new catalog in the mail to your address on file in late May.  Haven't order from me before?  Place a $25 order between now and April 27 and you'll be added to my new catalog mailing list.

Recipe:

Stamp:  Daisy Delight (available June 1)
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Old Olive
Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Delightful Daisy (available June 1)
Accessories:    Gold Faceted Gems (Avail June 1), Glitter Enamel (Avail June 1), Daisy Punch (avail June 1),  Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

Retiring list Questions

There have been some questions about the the bundles retiring.  While all of the bundles you can buy at discount will retire May 31, you will still be able to purchase many of the stamp sets and matching dies in the June 1 catalog.  However, you will not be able to buy them as a bundle with a 10% savings.

Click here to place an order

Check out the on-line store to see the items retiring.  Some are on sale up to 50% off.  As accessories sell out, they will no longer be available.  However, retiring stamps will be restocked until May 22 and then sold only while they last.  See the products retiring May 31.

Here's the Stampin' Up! link to download the U.S. Retiring list with catalog page numbers.

This is your opportunity to pick up that stamp set you've had on your wish list or the reinkers you'll need for the In Colors that will retire.  It is also your opportunity to buy any bundles that are not retiring.  After June 1, these bundles can still be purchased as individual items, but without the 10% savings if you purchase them today.
