Christmas in Black & White, Gold & Silver
This season, the Holiday catalog is full of Black and White, Gold and Silver. I've always loved the beauty of simple black and white cards,. This year, the Stampin' Up! papers and embellishments make it easy to create wonderful, striking holiday cards with these simple color combinations. Our ribbons, die cuts and punches add just the right touches to ensure your cards let your loved ones know just how much you care.
Just look at all the details on this card! Metallic silver and gold snowflakes from the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper. Snowflakes from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlit Dies as well as the black swirl at the bottom of the sentiment. Then the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set was stamped and then punched using the Everyday Label Punch from the Holiday catalog.
The white layer under the snowflakes is dry embossed with the Holly Textured Impression Embossing Folder.
The base card for my card is Thick Whisper White cardstock. The next layer is Basic Black. The metallic silver and gold snowflakes embedded in the specialty paper make this card special. You really can't get the full effect of this card until you hold it in your hands and let the light play on it.
The embellishments in addition to the die cut Basic Black snowflakes, include 3/8" Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon from the Annual Catalog and the Black Rhinestone Jewels from the Holiday catalog. The sentiment punched with the Everyday Label Punch is popped up on dimensionals with the edge of the die cut swirl attached to the dimensionals on the back side of the label. I'm so pleased with the look of this card.
A couple of tips: You'll definitely want to use your Big Shot Die Brush to quickly get the small chads to release from your Snowflakes. The other tool you'll find very useful in adding glue to your snowflakes is the silicone craft sheet. You'll love how fast you can add glue to your snowflakes when laid on your silicone sheet first.
