Halloween Cat
I created today's card for a swap I was in recently. I thought there would be plenty of black cats on orange backgrounds so I decided to do something a little different. Who would have thought to use Pool Party and Bermuda Bay as primary colors on a Halloween card? This card was just so much fun to make. Instead of a scary Halloween scene, this card reminds me of orange sherbet ice cream and satin ribbons.
I started by choosing four of the buildings from the Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies and die cut them in Basic Black. Then I added a Peekaboo Peach sun setting behind them and used the Layering Ovals to die cut the setting sun. The window is cut using the Heath & Home Thinlits from Early Espresso cardstock. The cat is punched from Tangerine Tango using the new Cat punch
The sentiment is from the Spooky Cat stamp set and the shadow lines under the cat is another stamp from the Spooky Cat set.
The bat stamped in Basic Black Archival is from the Sweet Home stamp set from the Annual Catalog, a carry over set from last year with a number of cute sentiments and stamps for the fall holidays.
The ribbon is 3/8" Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.
Tip: Use your Big Shot Die Brush to quickly get the small chads to release from your Buildings.
