Petal Palette stamp set from Stampin' Up!

  • Blends highlight embossing

Petal Pair Embossing Folder

Sometimes, your "test" turn into cards.  That's what happened today.  I haven't used my Petal Pair embossing folder in a while and I wanted to see what it would look like if I added color to the embossed images.  I first used daubers and ink pads and lightly brushed the raised images.  It just wasn't colorful enough, so I tried adding Blends Marker ink to a couple of images.  I was so pleased with the results that I added a sentiment and a ribbon, put it on a base card, and done!

I chose Old Olive for my base card.  Then the embossed Petal Pair image is on a Whisper White Layer.  I used the light Calypso Coral and the Light Old Olive blends to highlight the raised areas of the embossed image.

Then sentiment is die cut using the Layering Ovals and cut from Whisper White.  It is framed with a Scalloped oval of Old Olive.

The sentiment and the flower are both stamped in Old Olive, and they are both from the Petal Palette Stamp Set.  I colored the flowers with Light Old Olive Blends for the leaves and Calypso Coral for the flowers.

The ribbon is 5/8" Peekaboo Peach crinkled seam binding ribbon, which is one of the retiring ribbons I stocked up on.  Its retiring and this is your last chance to get it before the end of May.

This stamp set and its coordinating dies will carry over to the new catalog.  However, if you're thinking about getting the Petal Palette bundle, you'll want to order it now and save 10% on the stamp set and dies.  The 10% bundle saving disappears on May 31.  Don't forget to order the matching Petal Pair embossing folder to extending the usefulness of this set.

Fast Cards using Share What You Love Embellishment Kit

Oh My Gosh!  Do you need a fast card?  Here's a quick card using one of the new Share What You Love bundles that takes almost no time to create.  I recommend the Gotta Have It All bundle because it comes with the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit, the Rich Razzleberry Ribbon and the Share What you Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to help you make cards in a snap!

The Embellishment kit comes in a designer box and includes 8 of these small labels in addition to a slew of other goodies.  The best part is you don't need to wait until the new catalog release on June 1.  You can order one of the three Share What You Love bundles today  It's an early-release product suite.  Just click on one of the three bundles in the product list.

I chose Rich Razzleberry for my base card.  Then I cut a 3-1/2" X 5-1/2" piece of one of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Papers with Rich Razzelberry flowers and glued it to the right edge of the card.

Then I selected one of the small labels from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit from the Gotta Have it All bundle.  I use the Love What You Do stamp set to stamp the Thank You in Rich Razzleberry.  The edges of the label are die cut, giving the label a sophisticated look.

The Share What You Love Embellishment Kit includes a cover with the Statement of my Heart on it.  This is a also one of the stamp sets included as a free gift in the Gotta Have It All Bundle.  The kit includes 4 large labels, Tranquil Tide Baker's Twine, pearlized thread, adhesive-backed roses, both Silver and Grapefruit Grove paper clips, all in the 6" X 4-3/4" X 1" box.  I can't wait to use this empty box as a holder for gift cards made with this kit.  This Embellishment Kit will be available to order as a separate item in the new catalog...but why wait!  Get it as a free gift with the Gotta Have It All  Share What You love bundle.

Download a brochure showing details of each bundle, here.  These free gifts only available with Share What You Love suite until May 31.
