Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

Here's another cute Halloween card using the Stampin' Up! Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper, and the Cat Punch.  The Cat Punch is from the annual Stampin' Up! Catalog, and the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper, from the Holiday Catalog, includes a print covered with these cute bats.  Additionally, there's a Spooky Bats Punch in the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog that make punching out these bats super quick and easy. I love the way the stamp sets, papers and punches make it easy and fast to create a Halloween card like this.

In addition to the Toil and Trouble Designer Series papers used on this card, I also found this subtle Fresh Fig print in the Country Lane Designer Series Paper pack, that looked wonderful on this card.  Again, thank you Stampin' Up! for not only making it easy to coordinate new products designed as product suites that work together, but for giving us papers and products that work across the entire product line!

Punches make this an easy card to create.  You can almost see this cat's tail flick as he watches the circling bats against the moonlight.

Directions for today's card:

  • Fresh Fig basecard
  • Next layer is Granny Apple Green
  • Then the Country Lane Designer Series Paper
  • The moon image is punched out of Daffodil Delight using a 2-1/4" Circle Punch
  • The bats are punched out of one of the Stampin' Up! Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper prints with the Spooky Bats Punch
  • The cat is punched out of Basic Black cardstock using the Cat Punch
  • The green dots print beneath the cat is another print from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper package.

  • The sentiment is stamped using the Make a Difference alphabet set.  Its stamped on Whisper White with Fresh Fig ink and then die cut using one of the small dies from the Stitched Labels Framelit Dies set.
  • The black accent is a Black Faceted Dots, one of the embellishment packages from the annual catalog

Multipurpose pickup and precision tool

One of the new items in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog is the Take Your Pick Multipurpose pickup and precision tool.  It arrives in its own small box, and I almost missed it in my Holiday Pre-order.  It was such a nice surprise to open this new, useful tool, called Take Your Pick.

This new tool has a tacky putty tip, which helps you easily pick up sequins, paper accents and other small objects.  Twist the dispenser and more putty appears.  But there's more to this new Stampin' Up! tool!

The other end of this tool includes a mini spatula.  Its removable and when you turn it around, it becomes a paper piercer.  You can remove and replace this end with another end which includes a small stylus on one end or a larger stylus on the other end.  In addition, the Take Your Pick tool comes with a second Take Your Pick Putty Refill.  And when that runs out, you can order additional Take Your Pick Putty Refills separately.  What an incredibly useful little tool!  Check it out on Page 30 of your new Holiday Catalog.   Just one more item you'll want to add to your Holiday Catalog Wish List!

Stampin' Up! Halloween Card using Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper

  • Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek with Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper
  • Stampin' Up! Treat Time Stamp Set
  • Do you have your Second Assortment of watercolor pencils?

Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

Some days' I'm just too lazy to stamp and color images, although I really love the new Stampin' Blends colors in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, which I just received with my pre-order. Instead, I looked at the images in the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper and decided that cutting images from this Designer Series Paper was more in line what I wanted to do today for the card I had in my mind.  I also couldn't believe how cute the frogs in one of the prints in the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper Pack were, and I just had to find a way to use them on my card. One side of this Toil & Trouble paper set includes darling images, and the reverse sides are coordinating prints.

It always seems like Halloween comes up so fast that I only have time to make a few Halloween items.  This year I hope I'm starting early enough to do a few more projects than usual using the cute Halloween items from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog coming to customers September 5.

I laugh every time I look at this card and see the frogs hopping out of the cauldron.  The look on the cat's face is also priceless.

Directions for today's card:

  • Basic Black basecard
  • Next layer is Gorgeous Grape
  • Then the Granny Apple Green Layer
  • The image layer includes a print from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series paper with Lemon Lime and White dots.
  • Then the witch image, cauldron, cat and frogs are fussy cut from other prints included in the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper pack
  • The fence is die cut from Basic Black cardstock using a die from the Farmhouse Framelit Dies.  The Basic Black cardstock was backed with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets before die cutting to avoid getting glue on the front of the fence when adhering
  • I purchased this die set because I wanted this fence.  Then when I received the Farmhouse Framelit Dies set I was so disappointed that the fence seemed to be missing.  However, once I opened the package, I realized that this set of dies included so many dies that the fence was on the backside of the side with the house, truck and tree.  It also includes dies for two different tags and a die for six cute little bows to use as embellishments.  Sooo cute!

  • The Everyday Label Punch was used to punch out the label used for the sentiment.  I trimmed the bottom bump off the tag, and I used the Detailed Trio punch to create the hole in the top of the tag for the ribbon.
  • The ribbon is the new Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog
  • The sentiment was created with 3 different stamps.  The line at the top and the bottom was created with a stamp from Make A Difference.  The Trick or Treat is from Itty Bitty Greetings.  The Thank You for Being so Sweet is from the Treat Time set.  The sentiments are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Recipe:

Stamp: Treat Time, Itty Bitty Greetings, Make A Difference
Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento
Paper:  Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Grapefruit Grove, Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Everyday Label Punch, Farmhouse Framelits Die, Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Big Shot, Big Shot Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Paper Snips, Bone Folder, Stampin' Trimmer, Mini Dimensionals, Multipurpose Glue, Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
