Stampin' Up! Country Florals Embossing Folder

Today's card showcases one of the Embossing Folder techniques I'm using in my March 3 card class.  More info below.  It uses the newly released, free Sale-A-Bration selection -- the Stampin' Up! Country Florals Embossing Folder. This stunning embossing folder is one of the Dynamic Textured Embossing Folders, which is thicker than the traditional embossing folders and creates thicker embossed images.  That means the flowers and leaves in this embossing folder show up very nicely.  Paired with the Soft Sea Foam cardstock, this embossing folder creates a beautiful background for a simple, fast greeting card. The Country Florals embossing folder is a free selection from the second-release Sale-A-Bration Brochure which you can download here.   

I used a basecard of Soft Sea Foam, then a layer of Whisper White.  Before I ran the Whisper White layer through the Country Florals Embossing folder and Big Shot, I inked the side of the folder with the Stampin' Up! logo with Soft Sea Foam ink.  Then I inserted my Whisper White Layer and ran it through the Big Shot.    

Then I tied a length of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon into a triple-looped bow and looped the ends around the back side of the embossed layer.           

  

I selected a sentiment from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and then selected two Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies that fit this sentiment.  Using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies, I cut a mat of Granny Apple Green for a Soft Sea Foam layer, which was cut with the a smaller Rectangle Die.  The sentiment was stamped in Granny Apple Green Ink.  This card takes just minutes to create and is perfect when you need a thank you card or birthday card but don't have a lot of time.  I love working with Embossing Folders because they look impressive, with very little effort.

Embossing Folder Techniques and Card Kits Class - March 3

Oh my gosh!  This Precious Parcel Card Kit turned out to be so much fun and easy to put together.  I took it on a trip -- just shoved it in my tool kit from the November Stampin' Up! 30th Anniversary On Stage event --and it was a perfect fit!

Stampin' Up! Fable Friends Stamp Set

Stampin' Up! Fable Friends

I've previewed this card on my blog a couple days ago, because we're going to make this as one of the cards in our card class this Sunday.  However, today I wanted to give your the recipe for making this cute Stampin' up! Fable Friends card.  As soon as I saw these cute ducks in early November, I knew I had to have this stamp set.  I love the cute raincoats these ducks are wearing. Paired with the Gingham papers and organdy ribbons, this card just makes me smile.  The Fable Friends Stamp Set and the Gingham paper are from the Occasions catalog and the Organdy Ribbon Pack, currently out of stock, but should be available again March 4 is a free selection from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.   

I used a basecard of Thick Whisper White, then a layer of Balmy Blue, and then a layer of Gingham 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper.    

Then I used a Whisper White layer for my image layer, starting with a piece large enough to stamp the largest, mother duck.  I colored the ducks using Blends alcohol-based Markers.  Then I cut the Whisper White down to 2-1/4" wide, fussy cutting around the largest ducks head.  I also added some blends markers around each ducks feet to "ground" them.         

  

I then die cut a large Pumpkin Pie circle with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink.  I layered it behind the large duck's head and under the Whisper White image layer.  

I die cut a Daffodil Delight border shape using one of the Doily Builder Thinlits Dies.  Its layered under the bottom right of the Whisper White image layer.  Then I assembled the upper layers and added a Balmy Blue piece of organdy ribbon to the left side of the card before adding the upper layers to the Thick Whisper White basecard. While the Organdy Ribbon pack is currently sold out and can not be ordered right now, it is expected for be back in stock around March 4.  Be sure to save one of your $50 orders so you can order this selection before the end of Sale-A_Bration to match your Gingham papers -- a must ,in my opinion, for spring projects
