Stampin' Up! Petal Promenade Thank You Card

  • Thank You card using Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper
  • A perfect swap card for OnStage

Stampin' Up! Petal Promenade Designer

Today I arrived in San Antonio for Stampin' Up! On Stage.  This is one of the 6 different swap cards I created for swapping cards with other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators .

I usually create cards with multiple die cuts, layers and accessories for many of my organized swaps.  However, I like to create a simple card for general swaps.  And this card really fit the bill.

Today's card again uses the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, one of my favorites since it was introduced in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog almost one year ago.  It can be dressed up with coordinating ribbons and Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Papers.  Or it stands as its own focal point.  I love how nice a simple card looks.

The basecard for today's card is Fresh Fig.  Then a layer of Smoky Slate, and then a layer of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.

I used two different sentiments from the Humming Along stamp set for my two different cards below.  They are stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then punched with the Tailored Tag punch.

Then I tied a 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon into a knot and added it under the sentiment layer, which is popped up on Dimensionals.  Because the ribbon is one-sided, you do need to twist the ribbon ends slightly to ensure the velvet side is showing.

I'm getting my new catalog mailing list set up this month.  If you've purchased from me in the past 6 months, you'll be on the my list to receive a new catalog in late May.  If you haven't purchased and don't have a current Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Contact me, so I can add you to my new catalog mailing list.

Dress up your Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper with Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper

  • More card ideas using Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper
  • Dress Up your cards using Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper

Stampin' Up! Petal Promenade Designer

Today's post will be short as I'm still working on swaps to take with me to San Antonio On Stage tomorrow.  Stampin' Up! is hosting On Stage events for Demonstrators all over the world and we're seeing sneak peeks of the new catalog coming out in June and fun photos of the events going on at the On Stage Live event in Auckland Australia.  I can't wait to get to San Antonio to see all of the great new products we'll have this next year.

Until then, today's card is actually a card I created previously -- before we had the Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper.  As I was playing around with the different pieces of the paper, this one fell onto of this card and I let out a little gasp at how beautiful the card looked!.  I love how it dressed up the card.

The basecard for today's card is Thick Whisper White.  Then a layer of Berry Burst, and then a layer of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.  Then I selected one Beautifully Detailed Laser- Cut Papers and sponged the backside with glue and attached it to the card front.

I used a sentiment from the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and stamped it in Mossy Meadow on the front of the card.

Then I tied a double bow out of Berry Burst 3/8" Silver-Edged Ribbon using my trusty wooden bow maker that my dear husband made for me years ago, and adhered the bow to the card with a mini Glue Dot.  Tip:  I usually use a couple Mini Glue Dots and heat the glue dots and bow for a minute with my Heat Tool to ensure that the glue stays attached.

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs Stamp Set + Catalog Changeover News

  • Healing Hugs in Shades of Spring
  • Must read News from Stampin' Up! about upcoming catalog changes

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs

Have you ever started out making one card and it turned into a completely different card?  That's what happened when I started creating today.  While this isn't the simple card I had in mind, I'm happy with the final result.  I used Healing Hugs for most of the images and Hand Delivered, a Host set, for the sentiments.  You'll love working with this set.

The basecard for today's card is Thick Whisper White.  Then a layer of Highland Heather dry embossed with the Tufted embossing folder.    Then a layer of Gorgeous Grape dry embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  Then the image layer is a piece of Whisper White dry embossed with the Corrugated embossing folder.  I had an old package of Whisper White cardstock that's been on my shelf for awhile, and found that I needed to spray the Whisper White lightly with plain water before I used the Corrugated embossing folder or my paper cracked.

The two flower images were stamped in Highland Heather and the other in Gorgeous Grape on Whisper White cardstock, and I hand cut them.  The leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green and were also hand cut.  There is a silver foil set of leaves and a Granny Apple Green set of leads cut from the Petals & More Thinlit Dies.  I also punches some vellum leaves using the Leaf punch.

The sentiment die cut and the piece backing is are also die cuts from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  The sentiments, from the Hand Delivered Stamp Set are stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto the Whisper White Die cut.  A few Silver Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, a carry over from the Holiday catalog, were used to accent the card.

The Healing Hugs stamp set is one of my favorite stamp set from the current catalog and I sincerely hope it remains in the new catalog.  Read more below about news Stampin' Up! has passed on to us about the upcoming new catalog.  I'm getting my new catalog mailing list set up this month.  If you've purchased from me in the past 6 months, you'll be on the my list to receive a new catalog.  If you haven't purchased and don't have a current Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Contact me, so I can add you to my new catalog mailing list.

Catalog Changeover news from Stampin' Up!

Watch for more news from OnStage-San Antonio, TX April 13

The new Stampin' Up! catalog for 2019-2020 will launch June 4.  To help you plan, Stampin' Up! announced these upcoming changes you'll want to consider as you plan your Stampin' Up! purchases the next month or two.

  • Die-Cutting and Embossing Product Line Changes.  The relationship with the current vendor has been reassessed, and Stampin' Up! has decided to move in a new directions.  This change is taking time to resolve and one issue is that no die-cutting and embossing machine will be offered in the new 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! catalog.  New dies and embossing folders will be offered in the 2019-2010 annual catalog using the new supplier.  The dies and folders will be manufactured differently.  This means the way you use the new style of dies and folders will be a little different than how you use the old style dies and folder.  Both the new-style and old-style dies and embossing folders can work with any die-cutting & embossing machine. (In some cases, adaptations like shims may be required because the gap between rollers on machines may vary slightly between manufacturers).  The new relationship is direct between Stampin' Up! and the manufacturer instead of working with another company who then works with different factories.  This gives Stampin' Up! greater control and potential in the manufacturing process.  We're have more to share with you as the relationship proceeds.
  • The current Stampin' Trimmer will be discontinued June 3, 2019, including all accessories--replacement cutting blades, scoring blades, and cutting mats.  A new trimmer will eventually be carried in the catalog.  During the gap while Stampin' Up! selects a new vendor, you may want to order additional cutting blades and cutting mats for your current Stampin' Trimmer.
  • The retired products list will become available April 15.  I will post the retiring list to my blog as soon as it become available.  You will want to pick up any stamp sets, accessories, papers or dies you've had on your wish list immediately after the retiring list is published, as many of the most popular retiring items tend to sell out quickly once the retired list is announced.
  • Stampin' Up! reviewed their pricing and there are several increases coming with the new catalog including slight increases on 8-1/2 X 11" cardstock, Versamark pad, envelopes, embossing powder, Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Mist refills, Foil Sheets, and Note cards & Envelopes.  This is a heads up to stock up on these supplies before the new prices go into affect. These new prices will be in effect with the new 2019-2020 catalog published June 4, including Demonstrator Pre-Orders from the new catalog.
  • I'm attend Stampin' Up! OnStage this week end-- April 13.  Watch for posts from the event with news on upcoming products in the new 2019-2020 annual catalog.
