Stampin' Up! Snow Globe Scenes

I've been reluctant to try the new Snow Globes from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog because I thought they would be complex and time-consuming.  To my surprise, this quick Snow Globe card took me about the same amount of time as any other card to create.  It wasn't hard at all!  And it is so adorable!  I can't wait to make more with other scenes that are part of the Still Scenes Bundle.

Look at page 43 of the Holiday Catalog and you'll find a complete suite of products you'll need to complete these snow globe cards.  In addition to the Still Scenes Stamp Set and coordinating Snow Globe Scenes Dies, you'll also find the Snow Globe Shaker Domes that fit over your images and can be filled with Snowflake Sequins that are also part of this suite.   Customers can begin placing orders September 4, and I, again, encourage you to place your orders as soon as possible on September 4 to ensure you receive your order with plenty of time to complete your Fall and Holiday projects.

New catalog items will be available in my online  Stampin' Up! store.  My customers already have their copies of the Holiday Catalog.  You can get a copy from your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  If you don't have a Demonstrator, I would love to be your Demonstrator.  Attend one of my upcoming classes to receive a free Holiday catalog.  Or, contact me and I'll send you a copy of the Holiday catalog.

The photo above shows a close up of the dome over the stamped image filled with the Snowflake Sequins and the die-cut base.  There is also a die that cuts the opening for the snow globe shaker dome.  You'll love these new domes.  They are just high enough to fill with sequins, but low enough that you'll easily be able to mail these card.

The base cards for the cards is Smokey Slate cardstock.  Then a layer of one of the silver foil prints from the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper.  Then I also cut a layer of Whisper White to sandwich between the Smoky Slate and the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper which is used to seal the Snow Globe shaker and where the image is stamped.

The Snow Globe Shaker Dome includes a sticky layer around the front side and backside of the Snow Globe Dome.  Die-cut the opening in the Feels Like Frost layer.  Then place the Designer Series Paper over the Whisper White layer and use the opening to position where to stamp your image.   I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored the house and trees with Stampin' Up! Water Color Pencils.

Then I was ready to add the Globe Dome.  I first removed the cover over the sticky on the front side of the Globe Dome, and placed the raised part of the dome through the die-cut opening in the  Designer Series Paper.  Then I placed a small quantity of Snowflake Sequins in a small mound at the center of the stamped/colored winter home image.  I removed the covering from the backside of Snow Globe Dome and carefully placed the Designer Series Paper with the Snow Globe Dome over the center of the stamped image on the Whisper White layer.  Then I pressed around the circular edge of the Snow Globe Shake Dome to ensure it was well sealed so none of the Snowflake Sequins escaped.   I glued the die-cut Snow Globe base in to place below the glob dome, which I had cut earlier from a piece of Silver Foil Sheet.  I placed the assembled upper layers on to the Smoky Slate basecard and added a Season's Greeting sentiment from the Still Scenes Stamp set.    Thanks to fellow demonstrator from the UK, Sam Hammond Donald, for the great video showing how to easily add the Snow Globe Shaker Domes to your project correctly!

Card assembly for Still Scenes and Snow lob Shakers

Of course, the first thing I did once the card was assembled was to shake it and shake it.  I loved watching the beautiful Snowflake Sequins move around in the Snow Globe.  You'll love making very special cards for your family and friends with this set.  Anyone receiving this card will know immediately that you spent time to bring them joy.  Add the Still Scenes Bundle to your Shopping List, along with the Snow Globe Shaker Domes and Snowflake Sequins. You'll love what you create with his set.

Holiday Catalog Ordering Begins WEDNESDAY, September 4

The day we've all been waiting for is here tomorrow, September 4.  You'll find all of the Holiday Catalog items available to order on my Stampin' Up! store.  And I'll post a link to the .pdf of the new catalog in a separate post on September 4, so that you can download a copy of the new catalog and zoom the images to larger sizes so you can see the details of the new dies, stamp sets, and embellishments. I'm always amazed after seeing enlarged images of the catalog images.  I always miss some wonderful details that I only see once I can zoom in on the on-line catalog images

Avoid Product Backorders
With the Holiday season lasting only a few months, place your Holiday catalog order early to avoid possible backorders.  When catalogs are released to customers, popular products sometimes sell out and take weeks to replenish to fill backorders.  Plan your order tonight.  Then place your order early on September 4 -- before you leave for work -- to ensure you're able to make all of the cute sneaks peek projects you've seen here and on Pinterest over the past month.

25 Holiday Catalog Products Under $25
We know we all want everything in the Holiday Catalog.  And a great way to budget for the items you want is to add these 25 items under $25 to your shopping list. It's a great way to begin building your Fall and Holiday product stash, a little at a time.  But order early so you don't have to worry about keeping up with which items are already on backorder, due to popularity
