How to pass the time while you're at home

Burned through your prerecorded TV shows and new Netflix movies?  Many of us are going to have some extra time on our hands in the coming couple of weeks.  I'm sure there are things you haven't had time to do or things you've always wanted to learn, and things you've wanted to reorganize.  Well, this is a perfect time!  Don't sit around waiting for bad things to roll out. Use this time to move forward.

Here's some ideas to help you pass the time:

  • Purchase craft kits to help keep your kidos busy  Our Stampin' Up! All-inclusive Kits like Three Cheers for You, Item #151304, on page 59 of the January-June 2020 Mini catalog is one great alternative.  There are several more kits to consider in the annual Stampin' Up! catalog.
  • Pull out all of your Paper Pumpkin kits that you haven't yet assembled and make some great cards to send to family and fiends to let them know you're thinking of them.   If it was a kit you didn't assemble because it wasn't a project you liked, look on line for Paper Pumpkin alternatives and find samples of alternative projects using the contents of your kit.  Google, Pinterest, and Stampin' Up! Demonstrator blogs are all great resources for alternative ideas for your Paper Pumpkin Kits.
  • Organize your Paper Pumpkin stamps into Stamp Cases.  Order Standard Stamp Cases, Item # 119015.   Then, join the Facebook group, Paper Pumpkin Fan Club, go to the files for the group and download the monthly Paper Pumpkin inserts for your Stamp Cases.  Make sure to order the April Paper Pumpkin Kit to have something new to work on.
  • Organize your craft room.  If you haven't yet ordered the Storage by Stampin' Up! for your ink pads and accessories, this is a great time to reorganize your craft room work area so that you maximize your time creating.
  • This is a great time for you to post your retired Stampin' Up! items on neighborhood boards, eBay, or Sell/ISO Facebook sites.
  • Make a list of birthdays and anniversaries coming up in the next few months and make a supply of cards to send when you need them instead of rushing at the last minute.
  • Join Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator to make some extra money,  and start a blog to promote your new business.  Join by March 31 for extra sign-up bonus
  • You've wanted to learn how to use some of your new Stampin' Up! stamps and dies.  This is a great time to spend some time on the Stampin' Up! YouTube channel.  Subscribe to the Channel.  Then binge watch  all of the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog videos and the Sale-A- Bration product videos for fun ideas you'll love to try on your own.

Stampin' Up! Power Of Hope, Again

I'm continuing to play with the Power of Hope set.  Today I created a simple thank you card, but with a quick change of the sentiment, this could be a birthday, thanking-of-you or a congratulation card.  With our families and friends hunkered down to ride out the Covid-19 threat, this is a wonderful time to create cards and reach out to our friends, family or that widowed neighbor down the street who might feel a little more lonely than usual to let them know we're thinking of them. The Power of Hope Stamp Set from the Stampin' Up! free with qualifying purchase Sale-A-Bration selections is a great set to create a quick card without feeling overwhelmed.

The basecard for today's card is Basic Black Cardstock.  Then another layer of Basic Black cardstock heat embossed with the tree image from the Power Of Hope Stamp Set  in black embossing powder.  Then a layer of Whisper White dry embossed with the Stone 3D embossing folder.  You'll need your blue Emboss Plate for this Embossing Folder.

For the image layer I matted a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with a piece of Vellum cardstock.  I stamped the temple image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the Whisper White, along with a sentiment from the Beautifully Braided Stamp Set.  Then I selected three black flower elements from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins and used Glue Dots to attach them to my card front.

This is a close up of the tree image embossed on the Basic Black layer.  It is very subtle, but adds additional texture to this simple black and white card.

Be sure to add the Power Of Hope Stamp Set to your shopping list before Sale-A-Bration ends.  Hurry, Sale-A-Bration ends March 31, 2020, and products selections are only available until they are sold out. You'll love everything you make with these wonderful products.
