Use one card layout for multiple purposes

Stampin' Up! Easter Promise Stamp Set

Today's series of cards shows how you can use a common layout and simply by changing the sentiment, you're card layout works for many purposes.  A great card layout can really stretch a stamp set's usefulness.  I used the Easter Promise stamp set for the image for today's card. This beautiful Happy Easter sentiment is part of the Easter Promise set.  But the stamp set isn't restricted to Easter.  Beautiful sentiments from the Kindness & Compassion Stamp Set and the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set are also beautiful choices with the Easter Promise Stamp Set's flower image.

The basecard for today's card is Crushed Curry.  Then a layer of one of the prints from the Follow Your Art designer Series Paper.  With the various shades of yellow in this Designer Series Paper print, you could also use Daffodil Delight or So Saffron as your basecard.  I happen to like the bold, dramatic effect of the Crushed Curry.

I die cut a layer of Vellum cardstock and a layer of Whisper White for the image, using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I've gotten more than my money's worth out of this die set from the January-June 2020 Mini catalog.  If you don't already have it, this is one you'll want to order before the Mini catalog retires in June.

I stamped the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then I selected different sentiments for each of my three samples and stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento ink as well.  I used Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Mango Melody Stampin' Blends Markers to color the flowers, and Light Old Olive to color the stems.

To finish the card, I used Blends Markers to color 3/8" Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon and then created a bow, which I added to the card front. Then I added a single Glitter Enamel Dot to the image layer.

This series of cards show how quickly you can create a card design that works for many different occasion.   Let's keep stampin' as we think of others who would love to know you're thinking of them.  Sending handmade cards is a great way to stay in touch when you can't be with distant loved ones and your cards will be greatly appreciated during these times.

If you don't have a demonstrator and want a copy of the January-June 2020 Mini catalogcontact me.   I would love to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Alternative card made using the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

  • March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit
  • Order the Wonderful Family April Paper Pumpkin Kit by April 10
  • Ornate Garden Suite Early Release from upcoming Annual Catalog

March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Today I received the best happy mail.  My good friend, Brenda, sent me a card using the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  She put her own spin on it and created a beautiful Alternative Paper Pumpkin Card using the March Paper Pumpkin kit materials plus some of her own.  It was so bright and cheerful.  Just what I needed o a cloudy, Spring day.

If you haven't yet put your kit together, you'll love that this month's kit includes a bonus -- an extra stamp set--to celebrate Paper Pumpkin's seventh's birthday!  And the stamp sets are darling!  I love the sentiments in this month's kit.  The two that will likely be used the most because they are so appropriate right now is the one Brenda used on her card:  Wishing you Brighter Days Ahead.  The other sentiment likely to be popular is:  No Matter the Weather We're in this Together.  The stamp sets include two additional sentiments, plus a variety of stamps appropriate for Spring wishes.

If you haven't watched the kit assembly video yet, here's the link to the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit Assembly Video.  Or if you want a peek at what's inside a Paper Pumpkin kit and how to use it to create projects, watch this video.  These kits are great for giving the kidos at home a little play time with projects their friends and grandparents will enjoy.

Normally, we meet at a local coffee shop each month to put together our kits with a group of Paper Pumpkin enthusiasts, so we can share alternative ideas, while we assemble our kits.  This month, of course, we're unable to meet, but we can still share our alternative card ideas via group texts and email.  And there are numerous Facebook Paper Pumpkin Fan Clubs for even more ideas. This month's cards are perfect for sending a note to cheer our house-bound friends and family or a neighbor who is home alone.

Each month's Paper Pumpkin Kit includes a stamp set --this month it was two stamp sets to celebrate Paper Pumpkin's 7th birthday--, an ink spot, printed instructions plus the pre-cut papers, die cuts, envelopes and embellishments to assemble your kit. Just add your own glue and a scissors.   Add some of your own materials to create even more creative ideas.

Sending handmade cards is a great way to stay in touch when you can't be with distant loved ones.  Paper Pumpkin makes it easy for you to create beautiful cards, even if you have limited supplies.  And your cards will be greatly appreciated during these times.  Order next month's kit by April 10.  Details below.
