Check out the Early Release Ornate Garden Bundle from the upcoming Annual Catalog

Stampin' Up! Ornate Garden Suite

Today I'm using the Ornate Garden Suite.  It's an early release from the upcoming Stampin' Up! annual catalog that you can invest in today knowing you'll have plenty of uses for this set as we thank so many wonderful people for helping us successfully navigate the Corona-19 virus hardships.  This is a massive suite of products, including two stamp sets and die bundles.  I don't ordinarily love busy, bright designer series papers, but the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper just makes your eyes happy looking at all of the bold colors.  I seem to be on a Crush Curry kick, so I immediately reached for Crush Curry as my basecard, accents and ink.  Take a closer look at this sneak peek from the upcoming catalog.

The basecard for today's card is Crushed Curry.  Then a layer of Early Espresso dry embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  Check out the closeup photo below to see the elegant flower pattern created using this Embossing Folder.  Then I selected one of the flower prints from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Next, I used one of the dies from the Ornate Borders Dies to create a Crushed Curry border for the Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This detailed die cut beautifully!

Then, the daisies in this print seemed to call for the more daisies as added texture.  I reached for my Daisy Punch and my Medium Daisy Punch, and the coordinating Daisy Delight Stamp Set and stamped two sizes of Daisies to add to the card.  The larger daisy was stamped in Crushed Curry on Whisper White cardstock.  The smaller daisy was also stamped in Crushed Curry ink on Crushed Curry Cardstock.  If I were to do these daisies over, I might try stamping one or both of them using Early Espresso ink to match the flowers in this print.  However, that's the beauty of playing wit stamp sets early.  Trying different combinations gives you better ideas for future cards you stamp with this set.  The hearts were punched out of Early Espresso cardstock using a mini heart punch from my retired stash.  The sentiment was stamped in Espresso ink on a Whisper White die cut shape created using one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

I've been busy creating and sending cards to let others know I'm thinking about them.  With the Ornate Garden Suite, I'll made a plenty of Thanks-You cards to carry with me on the rare trips I make to the supermarket and post office to let those heroes know how much I appreciate the great service thy're providing us during quarantine.   Let's keep stampin' as we think of others who would love to know you're thinking of them.  Sending handmade cards is a great way to stay in touch when you can't be with distant loved ones and your cards will be greatly appreciated during these times.

Use one card layout for multiple purposes

  • Stampin' Up! Easter Promise Stamp Set
  • Stampin' Up! Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper
  • Ornate Garden Suite Early Release from upcoming Annual Catalog

Stampin' Up! Easter Promise Stamp Set

Today's series of cards shows how you can use a common layout and simply by changing the sentiment, you're card layout works for many purposes.  A great card layout can really stretch a stamp set's usefulness.  I used the Easter Promise stamp set for the image for today's card. This beautiful Happy Easter sentiment is part of the Easter Promise set.  But the stamp set isn't restricted to Easter.  Beautiful sentiments from the Kindness & Compassion Stamp Set and the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set are also beautiful choices with the Easter Promise Stamp Set's flower image.

The basecard for today's card is Crushed Curry.  Then a layer of one of the prints from the Follow Your Art designer Series Paper.  With the various shades of yellow in this Designer Series Paper print, you could also use Daffodil Delight or So Saffron as your basecard.  I happen to like the bold, dramatic effect of the Crushed Curry.

I die cut a layer of Vellum cardstock and a layer of Whisper White for the image, using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I've gotten more than my money's worth out of this die set from the January-June 2020 Mini catalog.  If you don't already have it, this is one you'll want to order before the Mini catalog retires in June.

I stamped the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then I selected different sentiments for each of my three samples and stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento ink as well.  I used Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Mango Melody Stampin' Blends Markers to color the flowers, and Light Old Olive to color the stems.

To finish the card, I used Blends Markers to color 3/8" Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon and then created a bow, which I added to the card front. Then I added a single Glitter Enamel Dot to the image layer.

This series of cards show how quickly you can create a card design that works for many different occasion.   Let's keep stampin' as we think of others who would love to know you're thinking of them.  Sending handmade cards is a great way to stay in touch when you can't be with distant loved ones and your cards will be greatly appreciated during these times.
