A Golden Christmas Card using Perfectly Plaid and the Pine Tree Punch

I'm in full Christmas Card creation mode and using so many of the fun items.  One of my favorite stamp and punch sets is the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and the coordinating Pine Tree Punch.  A Christmas Card just seems so much more special when you add Gold Foil and Gold Embossing to the card.  That's just what I did to the card I created today.  I also used the So Many Snowflakes Dies to add a beautiful Gold Foil snowflake along with the embossed pine trees.  'Tis the season for plaid as well, and I'm using one of the beautiful plaids from the Plaid Tidings 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper.  Sparkly cards make my eyes happy!   
           
Gold Foil Christmas Card using Stampin' Up! Perfectly Plaid


The basecard is Thick Very Vanilla cardstock.  Then a layer of Gold Foil Sheets on the top portion of the card, and a layer of Plaid Tidings 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper on the bottom portion.  Then I die cut a snowflake from So Many Snowflakes out of Gold Foil as well as a Gold Foil circle using the Stitched Shapes Dies and added them to the card front.  The Gold Foil Stitched Circle is popped up on Dimensionals.

I selected one of the Pine Tree stamps from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and used Versamark Ink to stamp it onto the Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce Cardstock.  Then I covered it with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool.  I punched 3 Pine Trees using the Pine Tree Punch and layered them on top of the Stitched Gold Foil Circle. I also het embossed one of the sentiments from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set in Gold Embossing Powder onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and popped it up on Dimensionals.  To add a little bling, I added Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon and several Gold Metallic Pearls.

Whisper White cardstock retires as mill closes. Replaced with Stampin' Up! Basic White cardstock.

                         

  • Mill producing Whisper White permanently closed due to Covid-19
  • Testing ensued for a replacement to meet Stampin' Up! standards 
  • Replacement called Basic White is in the works
  • With Whisper White going out of production, a number of products affected 
  • Whisper White products available while supplies last with limits of 2 items per order.

Whisper White has been a Stampin' Up! staple for a long time.  We love it and we know you love it, too.  Stampin' Up! sadly announced that the supplier's mill producing Whisper White cardstock has permanently closed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Unfortunately, Stampin' Up! received little notice about this closure.  This means that the technology unique to this particular supplier is now unavailable to Stampin' Up!, and Stampin' Up! can no longer offer Whisper White cardstock and related products such as Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes.  Note that this won't affect any other cardstocks; this only affects Whisper White.   

After testing alternative cardstocks from several suppliers that maintains Stampin' Up's quality, a replacement winner has been announced:  Basis White.  Listen to the video below for a comparison of Whisper White to Basic White.





The new Basic White Products will become available to purchase as soon as Stampin' Up! has them in stock.  This means that some Whisper White and Basic White products may be available at the same time.  

Additionally, due to the nature of sourcing, some Basic White products may not be available before the Whisper White products sell out.  Please know that Stampin' Up! is working on getting these products available to you as fast as possible.  Since the change came as a surprise, during the transition to new Basic White products, you may still see the name Whisper White on some of Stampin' Up! non-cardstock product labels, catalog, and marketing material for a while.  Stampin' Up! is working diligently to address this.  

Here are the Whisper White cardstock items that are available while supplies last.  An order limit of 2 per item per order is in place.  We hope this early heads up will help you as you plan your upcoming purchases.  These Whisper White items can be combined on orders for items from the current catalogs, as well as combined with Clearance Rack and Giant Year End Closeout items while supplies remain.
