Back To Back Stamp Set reverses to create water-colored image with no extra work

While I wait for my new catalog order, I'm playing with stamps from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, which is still current.  I'm using the Back to Back Blooms set, which is a Reversible Stamp Set.  What does that mean?  It means that after you stamp an image, like the flowers, you pull the stamp from your clear block and turn it over, put it back on your clear block, ink it up, and use it to stamp a color onto the image you stamped previously.  I inked up the backside of my flowers with Misty Moonlight, stamped off twice and the third time I added the color to my flower images.  Magic! And fast!  Faster than coloring with Stampin' Blends or Stampin' Write Markers.   I used the new 7/8" Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon and some Misty Moonlight Ribbon to create the border on the right hand side of the page.  The sentiment is from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set.

I created the boarder on the right side of the card using cardstock and ribbons.  First a layer of Misty Moonlight Cardstock, then a layer of Basic White, then a layer of 7/8" Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon, and finally a Misty Moonlight 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon.

I stamped the flower images on Basic White Cardstock, then turned the Reversible stamps over and put them back on the clear block and used it to stamp the color inside each flowers.  I stamped-off twice before stamping the Misty Moonlight color onto the flower image.  I love that this technique gives a water-colored look, plus it doesn't stamp the color perfectly inside the image, giving the flowers a more artistic look.  I stamped the leaves in Smoky Slate before I glue my flowers into place.  Then I added a couple of 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots.

Paper Pumpkin Bouquet of Hope Alternatives Cards

I've gotten behind on my Paper Pumpkin Kits, but I love having thank-you and birthday cards on hand when I need them, so this week end I finally put together one of my kits from earlier this year.  Paper Pumpkin kits are a great resource when you need fast cards.  These elements are from the February 2021 Bouquet of Hope Paper Pumpkin kit which came with a Mossy Meadow Ink Spot.  

This is my first batch of cards using elements from the kit, and are based on alternatives from Rae Jean Communal with my own spin on each.    This is only about 1/3 of the elements from the kit, so I can't wait to finish additional cards using the rest of the kit elements.

I used Just Jade as my basecard for these cards.  I added a Basic White layer dry embossed with different embossing folders to add texture to the cards.  I used the yellow polka dot elements from the kit to create accent points for each card. On the bottom card, above, I also die cut stitched circle in Mint Macaron to add a focal point fo the die cut elements.      

 


The kit included a number of floral die cuts, and I selected different floral die cuts to accent each card.

The Paper Pumpkin stamp set included in this kit included several sentiments that were sympathy related.  I used the sentiment labels provided by the kit and added my own thank-you and happy birthday sentiments, as these are the cards I tend to use the most.

The kit included black sequins embellishments.  I used some on my cards, and also used some of the retired 2020-2022 In Color Dots, and Mint Macaron ribbon as accents on other cards.
