Sometimes it's necessary to unlearn the lessons we learned in Kindergarten. Color inside the lines, they teach us. Use the expected colors of green for grass, blue for sky. When I receive a Paper Pumpkin Kit, the first thing I do is look for alternative ways to use the elements in a kit. I like to color outside the lines. Paper Pumpkin Kits are great to use just as they were designed. But it's even more fun to create alternative projects with the Paper Pumpkin Kits. The Kisses and Hugs Kit from January 2022 lends itself to lots of creative ideas, so be bold. Color outside the lines with your Paper Pumpkin Kits! Express yourself freely! I used the heart die cuts in the kit to create a fun-fold card. Then I opened the envelopes in the kit and created some alternative treat packaging ideas using Pretty Pillowbox Dies, Item #156321 |$34.00 USD. I used the Kisses & Hugs Mini Treat Boxes Add-On as is, as they were perfection. Refills are available for the Kisses & Hugs Kit and the Mini Treat Boxes Add on. The Mini Treat Box add-on includes 20 treat boxes! In addition to my own kit and Mini Treat Boxes add-on, I also sent sets as fun gifts for my niece and nephew, who also love to craft.
To create the card below, I used one of the base card provided with the kit. I folded the two hearts on each end in half so that they opened in the center. The I layered a vellum heart and a pink heart from the kit. I opened an envelope and cut a heart from the Xs and Os print on the inside of the envelope just a bit smaller than the pink heart. I then added a Gray Granite arrow from the kit. Then I used the stamps from the kit to stamp a sentiment on the inside.
Next, I opened a few of the envelopes from the Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin Kit and I decided to make some additional mini treat holders using the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. I used a couple of small plastic bags filled with Pistachios to fill these little Pillowboxes. I used the gold cord and small pink hearts from the add-on kit to coordinate with the card and other mini boxes.
