Simple yet elegant greeting cards using Stampin Up! Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set

When the July-December 2022 Mini catalog launches this Friday, 1 July, you'll want to take a closer look at the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and coordinating Splendid Stems Dies.  These are from the Splendid Day Suite, and the suite also includes Sea Foam Seam Binding Ribbon, Leaf Trinkets, and the Splendid Day 12" X 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper.  You'll find the suite on pages 64 and 65 of your new Mini catalog, which most of you have received by now.  While the foils and images work well for Fall, this is a wonderful set for creating generic cards like birthdays, weddings, or a simple Thinking of You.  This set includes sever beautiful sentiments, and it also works well with your other sentiment sets, such as Go-To Greetings Stamp Set, which is what I used.  If you're thinking of starting your Fall cards now, this is a fun layout you'll love sending to friends and family.  Add it to your Shopping List today! 

Today's card uses a base card of Soft Sea Foam Cardstock.  Then a layer of one of the prints from the 12" X 12" Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Looking at the different photos of the card, you'll see I used the foil print side of this paper on one card and the plain print on another card.  Both are gorgeous and give you a variety of looks to work with.  Then, I used an image layer of Basic White Cardstock, which I scribbled with Fresh Freesia and Pool Party Blends Markers.  Yup. If you can scribble, you can make this card!  

Then I used the bumble bee image from he Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and stamped the image in Fresh Freesia and Pool Party Ink.  I used the Splendid Stems Dies to die cut two Soft Sea Foam pieces and layered them under the Basic White Sentiment strip. 

   

I used one of the sentiments from the Go-To Greeting Stamp Set and stamped the sentiment in Fresh Freesia Ink.  I added a piece of the Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding ribbon under the sentiment layer, and popped the sentiment up on Dimensionals.  To finish the card, I added a few Pastel Pearls to the card front.
