This was going to be a very simple card to show off the new flocked Snowflake 12" x 12" Specialty Vellum. A simple sentiment, a simple bow and the card would be complete. But, noooo, I looked at the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder and though, "Oh, wouldn't that make a cute background to the white, flocked snowflakes!" Then I decided to lightly watercolor the embossed piece to better show the embossing. So I added the piece of white, flocked snowflakes and added the bow, and though' this just isn't enough. So I opened the small round container of green For Everything Fancy Sequins, and found some sparkly white sequins that added so much to the card. The I found a Merry Christmas sentiment from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set, which I stamped and added to the corner of my card. But then I looked over at my desk top and spotted a stirp of Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics, which comes in three colors. I had been playing with them earlier and tying all three colors. They were dry, so I selected two white ones and added them to the ends of the sentiment. Phew. My simple card turned out to be more than I planned, but I'm happy with the results and I would be proud to send this to a friend of family member this Christmas season.
Today's Coastal Cabana Christmas Card uses a base card of Coastal Cabana Cardstock. Then a smaller layer of Coastal Cabana dry embossed using the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder. Then a layer of Stampin' Up! Snowflake Specialty Vellum, with white, flocked Snowflakes.
Then, I added a bow out of sheer Pool Party 3/8" Ribbon. I selected several sequins that were white, sparkly from the green For Everything Fancy Sequins and attached them with glue dots. I used a Coastal Cabana scrap and made a sentiment banner that I bent using my Bone Folder, and stamped a sentiment from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set. Then I added white Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics to each end of the sentiment banner.
