Here's a simple card showcasing the Reindeer from the Stampin' Up! Regal Reindeer Bundle from July-December Mini Catalog. I've had the set for a while and have been a bit intimidated with all the tiny dies included in this bundle. So I decided to use a few of the larger dies to create a simple card first before creating a card using more of the detailed pieces. I love experimenting with a new set -- deciding on die cuts, selecting just the right cardstock colors--and I'm please with how this simple card came together.
I stamped the trees in Shaded Spruce, and experimented with Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on one tree and tried the Silver Pearls from the Red & Green Adhesive-Backed Pearls Pack for the tree on my second card. I found that the Snowfall Accents, while fun, tended to make my ink run when it puffed, so I'm recommending the Silver Pearls. Then I die cut a Silver Foil Reindeer using the Reindeer Dies. I love how much detail is included in the die I used. It isn't just a shadow shape of a reindeer; it includes textured features as well. The Coastal Cabana oval background was created using a template of an oval I created using one of the dies from the Fabulous Frames Dies and a Blending Brush. The snowflake is from the Frosted Flurry Dies, and I used Silver Foil again. The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento on a sentiment label die cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies. I added Silver Cord from Simply Elegant Trim Pack to complete my card.
Today's card uses a basecard of Smoky Slate Cardstock. Then I added a layer of Basic Black Cardstock as a matte. Then I added an image layer of Basic White. I used the oval frame die from the Fabulous Frames Dies to create a mask with an oval opening. I laid it over my Basic White image layer and used Coastal Cabana Ink and a Blending Brush to create an oval background for my images.
Next, I stamped the trees from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set in Shaded Spruce ink and then die cut it using one of the dies from the Reindeer Dies. I also used Silver Foil Sheets and die cut the Reindeer image with the most details using the Reindeer Dies, again, and I die cut a snowflake using the Frosted Flurry Dies. I accented the trees with Silver Pearls from the Red & Green Adhesive Backed Pearls which also includes Gold and Silver pearls -- great for Christmas Cards.
To complete the card I stamped a "Peace On Earth" sentiment from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set, and added a layer of Silver Cord under the sentiment. The Silver Cord is part of a two-pack of Silver Cord and Gold Cord called Simply Elegant Trim. The sentiment label is a die cut from the Beautiful Shapes Dies. I added a Silver Pearl to the edge of the sentiment layer.
