Thanksgiving Treat Holders using Stampin' Up! Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper

We didn't have any Trick or Treaters visit us this year.  So I'm repurposing my Halloween treat holders into Thanksgiving treat holders, plus making more using the Stampin' Up! Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper.  From the Spooky Treats Paper Pumpkin Kit, I used the match box bases included in the kit and created a template from one of the overwraps to create a new overwrap using prints from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. Then I added a Black Organdy bow and a sentiment, and I had a new way to use my remaining Paper Pumpkin Kit for Thanksgiving treats.  Additionally, I create a small treat holder bag using another print from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper, added more of the Pumpkin print from that Designer Series Paper and another bow, and I loved the way they turned out.  These will be perfect not only for sweets, but also for gift cards. Refills for the Spooky Treats Paper Pumpkin are still available, as is the Rustic Harvest Designer series Paper

 

The matchbox treat holder bases from the Spooky Treats Paper Pumpkin past kit can be seen below.  The kit included three base colors.  I'm using the Basic Black matchbox bases.  Then I used one of the Treat holder overwraps as a template, and traced it onto the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper Print that I wanted to use. I fussy cut it, and secured the two ends using Tear & Tape. 

Since I wanted to use these for Thanksgiving treats, I looked through my stamp sets for an appropriate small square shaped sentiment.  I found this repeating Thanks sentiment among a retired stamp set called Suite sentiments. I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.   I often keep older sets with useful sentiments, even though they are retired.  I debated which ribbon to use.  I loved this retired Black sparkly ribbon which eventually won me over, but I could have just as easily used the Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon which matches the green in this print. I can't wait to use these cute threat holders!  

Next, I selected a Cajun Craze print from the Rustic Harvests Designer Series Paper to use as the base for my small treat bag, pictured above.   It takes a bit more than 1/2 sheet of the 12" X 12" print to create the one-piece bag.  I had a small treat bag in my wrapping paper stash, took it apart, and used it as a template for this bag. I drew it on the backside of the Designer Series Paper and fussy cut it out.  Then I used Tear and Tape to hold it together.  I used the pumpkin print from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper and added a panel to the front of my treat sack.  Then I added the sentiment on a Basic White Cardstock square.  It's stamped in Mossy Meadow ink.  I decided to use the Black Glittery Organdy Ribbon again and added the bow to hold the treat bag closed.
