Alternative card ideas using the Key to My Heart January 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Today I wanted to show you some of my Alternative Card ideas using the contents of the Key to My Heart January 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I used items from the Kit, plus added coordinating cardstock, additional die cuts, and ribbons, and even some pieces from the 2022 Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin Kit.  And this is just the start!  While the Paper Pumpkin Kits include instructions for creating cards using just the kit contents, I love to put my own spin on the cards in the kits.  For the cards I created, I used floral Designer Series Paper from the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper, I used Dies from the Tailor Made Tags Dies, Penned Flowers Dies, Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon, Fresh Freesia 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon, Pastel Pearls and Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.  I also used the stamp set, and die cuts  and basecards from the Key to My Heart Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Some of the basecards come with either preprinted designs or with Gold Foil Designs -- just beautiful! I also opened the included envelopes that came with the kit and used the insides of the printed envelopes like Designer Series Paper on two of the alternative cards. You'll love completing Paper Pumpkin kits just as designed, or coming up with alternative ideas of your own.  And if you need refills for your Key To My Heart Paper Pumpkin Kit, Stampin' Up! has Kit refills, Item 162472 | $11.00 USD.  You might also want to pick up some of the coordinating Heart Box Treat Boxes to use for Valentine's Day, Anniversaries, or Wedding favors.  Look for item 162417 | $11.00 USD for 10 Heart Boxes.  

For the card below, the basecard is Petal Pink.  Then a layer of Basic White.  I opened up an included envelope from the Key to My Heart Paper Pumpkin Kit and used the preprinted key design as another layer on my card, treating it like Designer Series Paper.   Then I made an image layer of Basic White with a matte of Petal Pink Cardstock.  I used the stamp set from the Key To My Heart Paper Pumpkin Kit and stamped the lock and the I love You sentiment in Fresh Freesia and Petal Pink.  I added a few Highland Heather Pearls for a little bling.   

For my next alternative card, pictured below, I used one of the Fresh Freesia Basecards that came with the Key To My Heart Paper Pumpkin Kit.  It is pre-stamped with cross checks in Gold Foil, so I decided to continue the Gold Foil theme by adding a die cut of a floral Gold Foil using Penned Flowers Dies.  I also used a vellum heart and a gold-trimmed Basic White Heart from the Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin Past Kit, which is still available at a 50% discount.  I added a bow of 3/8" Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and Gold Cord from the Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I stamped the heart lock image on Basic White Cardstock, and fussy cut it.  Using one of the die cut, gold-foil accented sentiment labels from the  the Key To My Heart Kit, I stamped a Valentine sentiment from the Country Bouquet Stamp set, however, there are plenty of sentiment in the Paper Pumpkin Kit that would work well for Valentine's Day.  

My third alternative card make using the Key To My Heart Paper Pumpkin Kit is pictured below.  I used a Petal Pink basecard.  Then a layer of Basic White.  I used one of the envelopes from the kit, which included the key print on a Fresh Freesia background.  I die cut a Basic White and a Fresh Freesia tag using the Tailor Made Tags Dies.  I added the lock and key die cuts from the Key To My Heart Kit and I added a bow out of the Calypso Coral Cord included in the Kit.  I also used the hearts stamp and the sentiment stamp from the kit.  I stamped the hearts onto the bottom of the Basic White tag.   I die cut a sentiment label using the Stylish Shapes Dies and stamped the sentiment in Fresh Freesia.  I used two of the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to add a little bling to the card.  

  

For my final alternative card using the Key To My Heart  Paper Pumpkin Kit, I used one of the Fresh Freesia basecards with the Gold Foil cross checks, and added a piece of Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper -- a Free Sale-A-Bration Selection you can earn with a $50 order -- fussy cut to cover the lower 1/3 of my card.  Then I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a label in Petal Pink and another in Basic White.  I used the Petal Pink label as a matte for the Basic White label.  I layered a Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon under the sentiment labels.  I stamped one of the sentiments from the Key To My Heart Kit in Fresh Freesia on the sentiment label and mounted the on Dimesionals.  I added two of the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to finish my card.
