I'm finishing up my August 2023 Meaningful Flowers Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternatives.  I love turning the simple cards and envelopes that come in these kits into more sophisticated alternative cards by adding different cardstock bases, more layers and additional die cuts.   This kit includes fun forget-me-nots and pink lily elements.  And the kit includes an extra, FREE stamp set. When I'm finished with each kit, I dismantle the box, add the included ink spots to my ink spot collection -- which I use when travelling rather than taking all of my full size stamp pads along -- and slip the remining kit contents and stamp set(s) into a clear plastic envelope with its instructions, that takes up far less storage space than three years worth of Paper Pumpkin boxes took up.   If you're a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, there are refills for this kit available; Item #163864, $11.50 US.  The Thoughts of Thanks Journal, the add-on for next month's With Love & Gratitude September 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit, specially designed by Shelli Gardner, is already available.  Item #163270, $15.00 US.  If you're already getting the Kit, add this to your new September - December Mini catalog order, which beings 6 September. 

The two cards above were created using contents of the 2023 August Meaningful Flowers paper Pumpkin Kit.  I used the stamp set and the die cuts and elements from the kit and added embossed elements, and die cuts to add additional interest to the kit contents.  More details below. 

These alternative card ideas used the pink lotus flower and lily pad die cut plus one of the lotus flower images die cut from the kit using the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I also cut two 1/2" strips of Orchid Oasis from one of the included basecards.  Then, I added a Thick Basic White Cardstock basecard and a layer of Basic White Cardstock dry embossed using the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder.  Finally, I used a few of the clear Adhesive-Backed Clear Epoxy Dots from the kit as accents on my cards.     

These two final cards created with this Paper Pumpkin Kit, used the included Forget-Me-Not stamp from the kit. First I used a mini blending brush and Garden Green Ink to color a section of the upper portion on my Basic White image layer. Then, I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the flowers followed by stamping sentiments using the included Pretty Peacock ink spot.  Then I created die cuts using the Radiating Stitched Dies, an Online Exclusive, only available on the Stampinup.com online store.  I created alternating layers of Basic White die cuts and Garden Green Die cuts from the Radiating Stitched Dies, and mounted all of the layer onto a Garden Green Cardstock basecard.  I found a perfect Garden Green ribbon in my retired stash and added a bow from this ribbon to my card along with a few green dots from another retired item in my stash.  I find that making alternative cards with my Paper Pumpkin Kit allows me to use up some of the wonderful accessories that I hadn't finished using before they retired.
